About the Author
Throughout her life, Deb has dabbled with writing. Her first book was 'Reindeer Dreams' - a quirky rhyming Christmas story for children featuring Barry the reindeer and his family. Her first grown-up books about aliens and unearthly spiders could be explained as off the wall. The Afterlife trilogy came next with a few 'Jason the Penguin' books in between.
The first book in the current series 'Unlikely Soldiers' is set in nineteen seventies Britain. The second covers the early eighties and includes the Falklands War, service in Northern Ireland and (the former) West Germany. 'Friends and Revenge' is the third book in the 'Unlikely Soldiers' series, it carries on in the eighties and takes a sinister turn of events.
Deb now spends her time writing, working part-time, avoiding housework and playing tour guide along with Allan. She occasionally blogs from Donut the dog's point of view and tries to keep the pounds off by working out, playing netball and long-distance walking.

I absolutely loved this book! There’s so much action and drama that once I started I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Lots of twists and turns that keep you entertained with interesting information about military procedures and locations. I grew up in the eighties so it was fascinating to read about the Falklands War from the point of view of one of the main characters.
I’d love to read more about Mouse, Guy and their friends so hope there’s a book three to follow soon.

It's now the 1980's and all hell is breaking loose. Mouse finds herself in Germany forced apart from close friends and family members carrying out other army duties. It is the start of the Falklands War and there are trouble aplenty in Northern Ireland. There are lots of secrets and lies abound which do none of the friends any favours.
To top it all an unscrupulous fellow from the past lurks in the shadows, and is out to wreak revenge. Danger lurks it seems on every turn of the page.
I love how there are many tender moments too I especially like the developing story of love between Mouse's brother Graham and one of her best friends Grace.
Very highly recommended.
The narrative describes human nature revenge and love really well. Really enjoyed reading this book and I’m off to buy book 3 now
