I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about Dr. Matilda Schmidt. She has a strict routine and doesn’t do much but work. She is still a virgin and has no interest in changing that. One night she has a very steamy dream. She is awaken by her ringing phone. Only to be told that she is going to help save the work by a demigod. Of course she doesn’t believe him. The next day at work that demigod strolls in hold a sack over his shoulder. He promptly dumps out Cupid. Cupid is her new patient. She has to help him with his love life or else he is going to be replaced. That’s not all Matilda winds mistaken for a different Matilda and gets kidnapped by a mobster delivery man from Las Vegas. What is a girl to do? I really liked this book. I was funny and steamy. This one thing changes her whole life. She is stuck with cupid in baby form and this hot delivery guy. She doesn’t want to be attracted to him or the demigod but she is. This book was well written and I can’t wait to read more of this series. It is cute, funny, and steamy.

My thoughts (Theo): “Unlovable” is a nice short story about laughing so hard that it might get hard to breathe. The characters have their own journey to show you, but their lines are so funny sometimes that you forget you were supposed to keep a side and just dive in and laugh right along them.

Matilda is your usual psychologist: hard to get, literally a V girl and someone not ready to crack a smile once in a while. She is solemnly focused on her job and only her job, forgetting how beautiful life can be. She is only one with her patients and that means zero social life for herself. Until one night when she is waking up, forged to get out of a heavy dream with some sort of a demi-god.

The best part is yet to come. The demi-god is not so unreal after all. Not when he is getting right through your front office door and demand you fix Cupid. Is he insane? You might be right, but in order to be right you have to explain the voice from your head last night. And that might be slightly uncomfortable when you are supposed to be the one curing those voices not hearing them.

But Matilda is funny and not as easily scared as she seemed in the first place. But then the unthinkable happens: Cupid really is an as****e and in need of her help, but some macho-big-guy-with-money from Vegas needs her back because she stole from her. She did what? She does not even remember doing anything remotely fun in the last years and this hit man thinks she is some hit-an-go-girl?

Will she be able to convince this ‘Whatshisface’ to leave her alone? To make him see that he grabbed the wrong person. And she definitely needs to make him believe her. But they don’t get along. At all, and the st***d C boy is there with them. Will they survive?

Happy readying everyone!

When I was in college I took a class on the essentials of writing. The professor (and the writing lab) stressed that the opening sentence had to draw the reader in and make them want to continue reading. I never really mastered that skill, but Cynthia St. Aubin certainly did. From the opening paragraph, the reader knows that what they are going to read is going to entertain.

Unlovable is in a class by itself, in that it is not like anything I have read before. It's kind of like an R rated Charmed (you remember Charmed, don't you?) in that the reader is being introduced to Cupid, mobsters, a sexy demigod, and a lecherous security guard, when they all show up in Dr. Matilda Schmidt, (Psy.D, Ph.D) office and reign havoc on her life and good sense.

My hope is that Unlovable will be turned into a full length book and this will just be the first chapter. Happy reading.

If you like a laugh-out-loud, sexy story, Unlovable is the book for you! Ms. St. Aubin's sucked me in from the very first page, and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. What a great story! I'm eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

"Unlovable: The Case Files..." has a little bit of action, romance, and humor. The author came up with a unique plot with unique characters. Dr. Matilda Schmidt is a psychiatrist who has issues of her own. However, her first clients turn her world upside down. I won't spoil this one. It's a quick read. I actually believe it could only be better if there was more explored in regards to the characters, but doesn't warrant taking a star away from my opinion.

This is a very fast moving, funny, sexy story. The author grips you from the very first sentence "I could smash it with a hammer" and pulls you in for the ride. You've just got to find out what the heroine Matilda Schmidt is so amped to dispose of in such creative ways. The story moves from one scene into the next flawlessly and the characters develope nicely as you move along.

The sex scenes were well written and the playful kind that make you just feel good when you read them. Oh and Cupid is probably one of the most interesting and funny characters I've read in a long time.

So you may be asking why I gave it 4 stars, Well I would have given it 4 1/2 stars but alas amazon doesn't have half stars. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I wanted to know more about the characters; Matilda, Cupid, Liam and Crixus all had very interesting backgrounds that left me wanting more. I would have loved to read a much longer story here.

All in all it's a great read or story to listen to, which is what I did. Driving back from a mini vacation over the weekend, I turn on my Kindle Fire and listened to the story while I drove. Kept me chuckling for many miles. I'm looking forward to reading more from Cythnia St. Aubin and Matilda in the future.
