Holy Hell I have so many feelings going on right now. I think this book destroyed me in both a good and bad way. Unloved is the sequel to the amazing Unwilling. While unwilling was a twisty, mind-bending story (which I loved), unloved takes it to another level.

Unloved picks up with Neely one year later after unwilling. where she is still struggling with the events that happened to her in unwilling. Oh how I loved Neely in this book. I felt that she was more of a victim in unwilling but finally came into her own in unloved.

Neely is pulled in so many directions from the people in her life. They all want her to return to normal but how does on do that. Neely life went off course and it has marked her for life and she can't be the girl they used to knew. Neely struggles with making people happy and reconciling her past self with her current self. It's a beautiful thing we Neely is finally honest with herself, accepts the women she is becoming and makes a choice on what she needs and wants in her life and not to make people happy.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. I think I might be the only person who loved in unwilling. Well I fell more in love with him in Unloved. I loved his journey from a boy who took want he wanted to a Man who was willing to sacrifice his own happiness and wants for the people he loves. He truly is a hero in my book and hope your sacrifice was worth it.

Oh Hayden, while I never rooted for your I did feel for you in unwilling, however I can say after unloved I hate you. I know it's harsh, but you proved that you wanted everything on your terms and only seem to care for what will make you whole and complete. All I can say is you deserve a good throat punch and a Bye Felicia.

Kudos K.W. Wood for writing an amazing sequel.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved "Unloved" probably more than Unwilling. Is that even possible?

KD Wood crafted a phenomenal story with unforgettable characters. I spent about a week trying to get them out of my head, and they're still not gone. "Unloved" made me unthink my allegiance to Hayden. His behavior became unbearable. I so agreed with Neeley's decisions. I hope he gets the permanent boot to the curb. Speaking of Neeley, she became a new favorite for me. Strong, tough, and thinking for herself. Hallelujah! Another character who wormed his way under my skin was Lucas. Who couldn't love that adorable little kid? It didn't matter how he came into the world. The child got to experience love from both of his parents. :)

My emotions were pushed to the max in book two. So many feelings...angst, love, joy...I think I felt everything possible reading "Unloved". My heart ached with Neeley, and I nearly put the book down to have a good old-fashioned ugly cry. Even now, thinking back on Andrew and Neeley's story just tears me up.

But, I couldn't put this book down. It was another page-turning, record read. There are so many memorable moments in "Unloved" including the concurrent story of the Taniwha. It was such a wonderful tale which allowed me to gain an understanding of her history and even sympathize with her.

I'm sure you will enjoy "Unloved". KD Wood, my friend, you know your way around words and can craft unforgettable, heartfelt stories!

This book picks up not long after the first one leaves off. It was a great continuation of this story.

I found myself wondering how the characters got to where they are. We went from a love interest that was completely devoted and willing to do anything for the woman he loves to someone that was unwilling to even listen to her side of the story. He did not even give her a chance to explain what was going on and what she had gone through.

We have the main character that completely changes her look on everything. She forgives for the major infractions of her trust but holds a grudge for the smaller issues.

We also have the boy off to the side. He finally has a chance to connect with the girl he has always longed for but doesn't even really try to win her over.

The story is a good one and I really enjoyed the story. I think the characters could use some stability in their actions though instead of completely changing the way that they react to a situation from one chapter to the next.

Some books are light, fluffy, easy reads. They don't tug your heartstrings, knot your stomach, make your skin crawl (& then turn around to make it tingle), or put a lump in your throat.

Well...this book is make you do ALL of that & more. You want to rush thru it to see what happens next, but know you can't because you'll scan through and missing a tiny puzzle piece the author has hidden in there for you.

Unloved is a book that hangs with you, leaves you wanting more. Like right now. I want book 3. *taps foot & waits*

Having read the first book Unwilling, I was quickly drawn into the second book Unloved and the characters I've come to know. The author ended the first book with a twist and this book had its fair share of twists as well. Predictability results in my losing interest in a story rather quickly, but this book doesn't suffer from that. There were plenty of surprises coming from the characters actions and reactions. Also, I feel the author's writing has improved with the second book. This series just keeps getting better and better, and at this rate, the third book Unboundless will be the best of them all. Keep up the wonderful work, KD Wood!
