I felt the want. The need.
Devon and Lincoln. I love.
I wrote my review so many times. Never able to find the right words to explain what this book did to me. I was pulled in and unable to get out for two days. I think I highlighted the whole book. I always highlight the paragraphs or sentences that grab me. Or tug at my heart. This book was full of those.
The realness of Devon’s life hit so close to home. Her always being strong when all she wants to do is give up and cry. She wants someone to have her back for once. I know all about that feeling.
Every word. Every moment.
Every pull she felt. I felt.
I don’t know what else to say, except read The Unlucky Ones. I’m forever hooked. My top read of 2019.
Five million stars ⭐️
The end had me gushy and smirking! So cute
Definitely a must read for any SMB fan or even a great 1st read to get into her books!
Refreshing to get great standalone book to breakup all the series out there!
Another thing is that the two had "met" five years prior and didn't recognize each other when they met again. I found this to be very far fetched and it took away from the story for me.
Other than this, The Unlucky Ones is a solid read, but not necessarily my favorite.
Tragic yet full of hope, The Unlucky Ones captured me from the first page and kept me hooked until the end. A love story with a twist; it is not only a love story between a man and a woman, but one that also explores the love between a mother and daughter. Stacey Marie Brown is a gifted and talented author.
