The h doesn't want to marry and turned the H down 5 years ago. They are thrown together over the course of a few weeks and slowly regain their friendship from when they were children. Romance builds slowly and was believable.
This story was like getting two for the price of one. You have the story of the four women being ruined by the villain. You are treated to another story about traitor's and spies. So many interesting main and secondary character's kept me glued to finding out what would happen next.
There is passionate lovemaking, outside of marriage - heat level 4 out of 5 if that and only described two times I think.
This story has much suspense, twists, villains, great plot and mystery, romance and a tad of steam. No cheating, no cliffhanger and HEA. We get a tense ending and very fulfilling epilogue that wrapped everything up to my satisfaction.
This maybe my favorite of the series. I loved all the books and the author does a great job of telling you all the background from the other stories, so can be a stand alone. I can't improve on the blurb, just recommending this author and story. (ljb)
What truly knocked the rating stars off was when our hero, Harry, finally tires of waiting for the heroine, Meg, to accept (she already realizes it) that they are meant to be together. So he sneaks into her bedroom late at night, locks the door and proceeds to put the old sexual moves on her, all the while PRESSING her to say "I love you". " Say I love you". Say I love you". She does, they do and the genitals once again create a whole new changed mindset.
Meg was stupidly immature. Harry was better but diminished when he locked the door. Hey, baby lets get you a new attitude!
FINALLY, got to the important writing with an explanation of what and why plus a good ending where the heroes get to be heroes! But getting there, with this writing, was excruciatingly long.
Lord Henry De Vere, a Captain, had just come back from the war. He had been injured but was on the mend. They had caught Napolean and he was now residing on Elba.
This was an exciting story with lots of twists and turns. He had to defend Meg and he loved her dearly. They really didn't want to admit to the love between them. It was also a tale of revenge, retribution, and traitors still in their midst. It was fast action and the children and animals were wonderful. It kept my attention and I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions between the characters.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
Meg quickly made her way home, hoping her parents had not heard what happened. Of course it was already in the scandal rags and he father immediately summoned Harry, a friend she had grown up with, but not seen in five years due to him being at war.
Harry arrives and Meg diverts him to drive her to her sisters and the fun begins! I love these two and the easy way they picked up their friendship from years ago. Harry had asked her father for her hand before he went off to war and her father would not allow it.
The story pulls out all the stops and all the ladies come together and the villain is revealed. Do not miss this awesome story or any in this series! I adored them all!

Lord Barden got his comeuppance, in more ways than one.
The story line, and there was a number was well defined and executed and engaging to read a number of issues cleared up, and an epilogue which rounded of the series beautifully, 'Gun' (Daniel's dog) as usual took central stage, and won the day.
If there is one series that I feel should be read it's this! I do think that Lady Meg's brother Johnny deserves his own story and I would enjoy reading that.
