Unmistakable Why Only is Better Than Best is a quick read and is put into the narrative of the sport of surfing. Unlike many other books on the market that give you a formula, this book tells you why you MUST not follow a formula. Formulaic living is what is bringing many people to the point where they realize that they have been sold a false bill of goods.

Rather than lamenting over the fact that society has sold an entire generation a story that is completely smoke and mirrors, Srini tells you how you can overcome it. Not merely to be one of the best or the best at what you do but rather be easily identifiable as THE ONLY one who does what you do.

Have you met a suit salesman that you can remember his name from 20 years ago? I can because he was unmistakable. Can you remember a garbage collector who was unmistakable in his craft? I have an answer for this one too. You don’t have to be world famous for what you do, you simply have to do what you do in such a way that no one else could copy the art of your craft. Similarly, Srini is unmistakable in his ability to get to the root of a person and draw out what makes that person tick.

I met Srini Rao at AJ Leon’s Misfit Conference in 2015. When I found out he had a podcast, I figured I would give it a trial listen and I’ve been hooked ever since. Srini has the ability to pass by the superfluous excesses of many interviewers and dig deeply and that also carries over to his writing. When I found out he had written a book, I quickly devoured the Art of Being Unmistakable and his effective, clear writing hasn’t diminished with this new title.

Srinivas doesn't waste any time and dives right into the juicy stuff on page 1. This is an incredible read and one I'll be gifting for years to come. I cleared my entire afternoon schedule one day to finish the book because it had me that captivated.

If you're struggling in your career right now...Unmistakable is for you.

If you have entrepreneurial or artistic aspirations...Unmistakable is for you.

If you're almost at the finish line of your endeavor but need a second wind...Unmistakable is for you.

If you want to achieve success without 'selling out' or being inauthentic...Unmistakable is for you.

I've been at all of those points over the last few years, and Unmistakable is for me.

i loved this book. i first met srini a couple years ago on his Unmistakable podcast and was immediately drawn into his magnetic personality. he zigs when everyone else zags. since then i have watched srini as he has interviewed some of the top minds in a broad variety of fields. but what has been even more fascinating is how he has absorbed his interviewees wisdom and interwoven it into his own story attempting to surf the waves of life as an entrepreneur. this book is a collection extraordinary thought leaders translated thru the ups and downs of srini's own life. srini is a fascinating individual and this book is srini at his finest.

Srini has been an inspiration for me since I started listening to Blogcast FM, the predecessor of the Unmistakeable Creative podcast. The guests that he has interviewed have often paralleled and augmented my own discoveries of authors and "insanely interesting people" who are creating truly remarkable work. So often I would find an exciting new book that really moved me, or be researching some thinker outside the mainstream and almost invariably Srini would either be interviewing them that month or he already had.

A few times, interviews popped up on my feed and I briefly questioned Srini's sanity. I was uncertain how I could relate to or what I could learn from an ex-con, a graffiti artist or a polarizing parenting advice blogger. Invariably though, I found that Srini was able to extract and distill the most profound insights, far exceeding my expectations, expanding my awareness and broadening my world view. Srini is the connector and the catalyst behind the most important movement of our generation - redefining what it is to be a "creative" and demonstrating the transformative power that creativity, intention and hard work have on our productivity, our happiness and humanity itself. Srini, you are "The Only", your work matters more than you know and I thank you.

I stumbled across Srini's old blog, I believe back around 2011. I found out that he'd recently taken a surfing trip to my country of residence for the last 16 years, Costa RIca. So, being a fellow blogger, I decided to make contact. Srini immediately responded and I've been following his work ever since. I later had the good fortune of meeting Srini's mentor, Greg Hartle, in Portland in 2015. The chapter on The Impact Zone is well worth the price of this book. In that one Srini tells it like it is, both in his own life and in yours and mine as well. The "impact zone" is where our mettle is tested...I know mine has been. I know Srini's has as well. If yours hasn't, well, it will be sooner or later. Srini lived to tell and write about it and give us a few lessons in the process. We all should be thankful for that.
