Editorial Reviews

After a musical career spanning four and 1/2 years of touring, two full-lengths, and three wonderful EPs (this being their third), this marks the final release from Milwaukees' Hey Mercedes. “Unorchestrated” feaures two hard-to-find songs that were previously released as a Japanese bonus track and a compilation track respectfully, two unreleased songs from the “Loses Control” demo sessions, and a live version of 'unorchestrated' which originally appears on “Loses Control”. A great closer to an extremely busy and prolific career.

I fell in love with Braid right as they were breaking up. I was into the Get Up Kids, New Amsterdams and Weezer at the time. Braid broke up in '99 and then 3 of the members made Hey Mercedes. Hey Mercedes is a more pop rock oriented sound, and less "emo" than Braid. The 2 full length albums "Everynight Fireworks" and "Loses Control" are really solid and are some of the best alternative/indie rock albums around today. But this is a great EP and Roulette Systems might be my favorite Hey Mercedes track. Quality Revenge at Last is up there as well. Such quality rock, which is a dying thing these days. Well worth the money. Its an EP, but it is a great sampling of Hey Mercedes unique style that has been the blueprint for so many emo/rock bands today.
