About the Author

Tawdra Kandle writes romance, in just about all its forms. She loves unlikely pairings, strong women, sexy guys, hot love scenes and just enough conflict to make it interesting. Her books run from YA paranormal romance and NA paranormal and contemporary romance to adult contemporary and paramystery romance. She lives in central Florida with a husband, kids, sweet pup and too many cats. And yeah, she rocks purple hair.

I love a strong female in a book, and Nell Massler is the definition of strong. Nell is given a second chance to redeem herself and save the day—but will she take it?

This book is the second in the Serendiptiy duet, a spin off of Kandle's King Series. Already familiar with the characters, I have loved how these two, essentially misfits, have been paired together. Kandle doesn't disappoint in her delivery of Nell's character. This girl has a whole lotta sass that the reader is sure to enjoy. With powers a bit out of control, Nell needs to reign them in a bit to rescue Rafe and keep him alive.

Rafe is a large part of this book also, which I adore. He and Nell must learn how to co-exist, which proves to be a bit difficult for them both in the beginning, due to the emotional baggage that both of them carry.

I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy a solid parnaromal romance, even though the characters have powers that are different than your typical PNR. I was fascinated by the abilities that Nell and Rafe both possess, and you will just have to read the book to see if they decided to use them for good, or for evil. :)

Captivating story. 5 Stars!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
In the beginning I was a little disappointed that this book was not primarily about Rafe. I had just been introduced to Rafe through the previous book, and I wanted more. It's a book from Nell's point of view.
So, I was introduced to Nell, a kick-ass, very damaged and hurt woman with some extraordinary powers. I haven't read the King series, but now that I have read Unquenchable, I really think I need to read the King Series. Enough of the scenes from the King series is explained in this story so you can get the gist of what happened without feeling lost.
Nell is such an incredible, in-depth character that I fell in love with. I believe every woman can empathize with her at some point. The hurt and betrayal she's felt through her life colors every scene between her and Rafe. Towards the end, she really started to learn to trust in the connection between her and Rafe.
Oh, Rafe....why? I was disappointed in him, or perhaps I was disappointed in the time line. I think more time should have passed with what happened at the end of the last book, and what happens in this one between Nell and him. I felt like he was such a little whore. Joss had my loyalty last book, and transferring it to Nell was difficult for me.
Overall, this book was extremely well-written, and I loved reading it.

I was prepared to have issues with this book. I knew it would be amazing because Tawdra has yet to write a book that I don't love, but I was wary. I expected to hate Nell because after reading The King Series, it was hard to imagine liking her. I also expected to be sad. Rafe's loss was still fresh in my mind from Undeniable. I was seriously surprised by how wrong I was.

Nell is a hard character. She is strong, stubborn, and sometimes downright hateful. She used to be an antagonist that I loved to hate. Suddenly in Unquenchable she became a protagonist that I wanted to trust, tried to understand, and finally fell in love with. That's a hard shift, but one that was made beautifully. Reading from Nell's point of view meant that even when she was in b*tch mode, I knew how her heart and mind really felt. She still had her moments of out right meanness, but I started feeling like they were a bit justified.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about Rafe's shifting attentions. Jocelyn meant so much to him. It was interesting watching him go through his grief with Nell by his side, providing her... unique brand of counseling. It wasn't hard for me to root for Nell in this, well not as hard as I expected. I guess I'm fickle. I think that Rafe and Nell were very right about what Jocelyn would say about it all.

The plot is exciting and while it moves quickly, it takes place over a period of time. As always I loved the moments when the characters used their abilities, especially Nell. She has some serious power. The secondary characters caught my attention. Doc was by far one of the best secondary characters, full of profound wisdom at perfect moments.

This book caught my attention from the first moment and kept it until the very end.

I was eager to get my hands on this book. I was not ready to give up the characters of the King series.

Nell has not always been a very likeable character. However she is one that stays in your mind. I think a great character is one that stays with you and evokes feelings within you, no matter if it's to love them or hate them. I also feel that Nell is a very misunderstood person. Let's face it, she did not exactly have a great upbringing. She pretty much raised herself.

Nell was given the job of saving Rafe. That means she has to do something unselfish and for others. That is not really one of Nell's strong suits. She takes the job though and is eager to accomplish the job and do her very best.

Does Nell change her ways, or does she go back to her old tricks? You'll have to read the book yourself to find out!
