This is some amazing music. I gave it 4 stars because some of the songs just don't sound entertaining outside of the game, but the majority of them are simply astounding. My personal favorite is frozen babylon. I always liked ice levels/dungeons, so it's only natural that it would appeal to me.

If you're a fan of this genre, then this is a must have cd.

I've been a diehard UT fan since I got the first for Christmas, and I've been a diehard techno (read, hard techno NOT TRANCE) fan since God knows when. So I'm going to step forward here and tell you that when it comes to either of these subjects, I'm pretty well qualified.

I'm going to be reviewing the CD out of game context, because it's not the game, just the music.

THIS CD IS AMAZING. Simply phenomenal. I'm honestly kind of glad they kicked Mr. Ripel off of the composing team, because while his arrangements were great, his gear was a bit on the cheap side. NOT HERE. The gear these guys used, along with the way they composed, this CD HAS KICK AND OOMPH. Great driving CD, just don't let the cops hear it if you want your "I didn't know I was speeding" excuse to fly.

The CD consists of selected arrangments and remixes of the old game's tracks and some new music. The arrangements/remixes are great, for once IMPROVING on the original tracks and bringing them into the modern age, not weakening them with tinny cheap synths. The synths are very bass filled yet crispy, and the orchestra is either live or a VERY good sound library. The artistic liberties with the source material are fantastic and in good taste, to the point where I could kick my fanboyism aside and prefer these versions of the tracks.

The new music is fantastic as well, high energy and lots of compositional depth. This is an awesome collaboration, 3 great composers PUTTING THEIR ALL into the soundtrack to make a FLAWLESS work.

If you are not a fan of the games but you are a techno lover, pick this up, it's ENTIRELY worth the money (and Amazon's one day shipping as well, thanks guys!).

If you ARE a fan of the game, you probably have purchased this CD already. ;)

Overall, 5/5. ***** INSTANT CLASSIC.

Indemnifies the Crap in the Game

Don't get me wrong, UT3 is a fantastic game. But there are certain aspects to it that need improvement. The soundtrack is a beautifully remastered endeavor of the original soundtrack from 2004, which had the best soundtrack of all the games. It is a shame Kevin R. didn't return for this soundtrack work, however these two new guys who created this soundtrack certainly gave it their all. This soundtrack is laden with high tension and smooth techno rhythm that meld into the gameplay for UT3 perfectly. It's definitely worth the 15 bucks, especially for two disks with 2 hours of music total.

Ich möchte hier nicht über die Qualität des eigentlichen Albums schreiben. So etwas ist ja immer höchst subjektiv, ich würde dem Album ansich jedoch klar 5 Sterne geben! Ein toller und treibender Elektrosoundtrack.

Allerdings handelt es sich hierbei ja um eine Produktrezension zur CD, also zum Gesamtpaket!
Die CD gibt es auch bei einem großen Musikanbieter als Downloadversion für weniger als die Hälfte des hier verlangten CD Preises. Macht mir als Sammler ansich aber nichts aus, wenn ich dafür eine hübsche CD bekomme.
Gekauft wurde die CD direkt über Amazon als "Neuware".
Leider kam die CD Verpackung in völlig kaputten Zustand an, der Kranz, welcher die CD 1 festhält, war zur Hälfte ausgebrochen und damit unbrauchbar, die CD Aufhängung ansich war ebenfalls komplett zerbrochen und lag lose in der Verpackung. Dies war mein Hauptgrund, wieso ich die CD wieder zurück geschickt habe, ist jedoch NICHT DER GRUND WARUM ICH HIER 3 STERNE ABZIEHE!

Es kann immer mal passieren, dass ein Produkt runterfällt oder durch andere Missgeschicke kaputt geht und ein Tausch wäre ja ansich kein Problem. Daher fließt der unträgliche Zustand, indem die CD bei mir ankam NICHT in die Bewertung mit ein.
Warum also nur 2 Sterne? Ganz einfach: Die CD wirkt regelrecht billig!

Geliefert wird in einem normalen Jewelcase mit Zwei-CD-Aufhängung. Es liegt nichts bei. Kein Booklet, kein gar nichts. Die Fronteinlage ist unheimlich dünn, und eher auf dem Niveau von Aldi-Rohlingen. Das ist für einen Preis von 30 € wirklich sehr ernüchternd.
Dafür der erste Stern Abzug. Wir reden hier nicht über eine 7 € CD, da muss einfach mehr für den Preis geboten werden. Zugegeben: Das Album hat eine beachtliche Laufzeit. Aber wie kann man sich nur so wenig Mühe bei der Präsentation geben?

Zwei weitere Sterne Abzüge gibt es dann für die eigentliche (Druck-)Qualität. Die ist gelinde gesagt: Lächerlich.

Besonders der Aufdruck auf den CDs ist unheimlich grob und unscharf. Kennt jemand die selbstgedruckten DVDs, die Opa vom letzten Familienurlaub gemacht hat, nachdem er gemerkt hat dass man mit dem 70 € Drucker auch DVDs bedrucken kann? Ungefähr die Qualität!
Auch die Druckqualität der Front- und Rückinlays ist auf absolut niedrigem Niveau. Grob und unscharf.

Diese Qualität ist für 30 € als offiziell lizensiertes Produkt schlicht nicht akzeptabel!

Wer dringend eine physikalische Version des ansonsten wirklich grandiosen Albums haben möchte, sollte sich zumindest nach einem geringeren Preis umsuchen. Denn mehr als maximal 15 € ist die hier gelieferte Qualität nicht wert! Wirklich schade Epic Games und Sumthing Else!

そして聴いてみるとカッコイイ曲満載です。
いわゆる洋ゲーにあたる作品のサントラですが
洋ゲーによくある映画のような壮大な仕上がりだがあまり印象に残らないBGMとは違います。
ゲーム性が対戦重視のスポーツFPSだからでしょうか。
とにかく戦いを熱くさせ、時に冷静にさせてくれるようなノリのいいものからセンスの高い楽曲までが収録されています。
ジャンルとしたらテクノやトランス、エレクトニカあたりでしょうか。
アーマードコアやエースコンバットの楽曲が好きな方は間違いなく気に入られると思います。
ちなみに2CDですが二人の作曲者でわけられてるようです。
どちらも素晴らしい楽曲を提供してくれてます。
ゲームの方も面白いのでオススメしたいですが、ストーリーはないようなものなので曲から入ってもいいと思います。
