This could have been a great story, but it turned out to be a big big cliffhanger. This is not a complete book. Imagine having a good candy bar and then it got dropped in the toilet. I am disappointed to say the least. This story had great potential.

Some books (novellas) are so bad that you must stop someone else from hurting themselves with the read. This is it...This was free, and I still want a refund. If I could do negative stars I would. The main characters are grown adults, but honestly, it felt like they were 15 year olds seeing their first naked person and getting their first kiss with tongue. The hero is a rock star that presumably gets all the women in the world at the drop of his hat, but suddenly is so sex crazed by this virgin that he can't stop long enough for her to eat. Speaking of which, she is constantly talking about how sweet he is while he says things (to a scared almost virgin) like "we don't have to do it right now. We have all night" or "I just wanna f*** you". This guy is only thinking of sex, not her fear, not that she's hungry, not that she's in love with someone else...he's a jerk...not my definition of sweet at all...He's telling the chick that he just met on the street 10 minutes prior to taking her home and feeling her up that he's a gentleman because he can wait until she eats (which he doesn't)...And for him to go on and on about how great he is in bed and all he could teach her, he didn't seem that great to me...I was completely turned off by his words, actions, and "skills".
As for the heroine, she's tops 15 years old...says she is 23 but no way...she is hopelessly in love with some guy (never find out who) but she meets this guy in an alley, wraps her legs and lips around him and says "take me home with you"....no introduction...no nothing...

Forget the horrible spelling and typos...forget that it is a cliffhanger...forget that the writing is horrible...this is a dumb story with ridiculous, juvenile characters. Please I beg you, do not be swayed by the 12 year old audience that gave this book a 5 star rating...

Unrequited begins in an alleyway just outside of a party. Alicia is upset and has stepped out for some air. But she's not alone. A hot, tattooed guy is having a smoke. The next thing she knows she's making out with him! When she comes to her senses she's too humiliated to find out who he is.

He is none other than Dex Callahan. Rock God. He's come out of retirement as a favor to a friend. He's performing a set at the same party Alicia is attending.

When the cause of Alicia's tears is in her face she takes a risk and leaves with Dex on his motorcycle and spends an interesting night with him.

The story was okay. It's a story that's been done to death. But I've never read the previous series so I don't know anything about Alicia's unrequited love but I'm interested in learning more. I also want to know more about how Dex got burnout from the business. I'll definitely be reading Uninhibited.

4.5 stars!!

I’m not even exaggerating when I say this: Melody Grace’s books just get better and better with each new one that’s published! I can’t wait to meet the rest of the Callahans!!

Unrequited is a short but so satisfying novella and an introduction to Dex and Alicia’s story. If you haven’t read any of this author’s books before, it’s okay to start from here but I’d really recommend reading them in order. Alicia is a side character first introduced in book 2 and this story begins where book 3 ended.

I’ve read all the books in this series and the one character that really stood out to me was Alicia. She was always on the sidelines, not really a friend to our previous main characters, but not an outsider either. She’s quiet, reclusive, keeps to herself, yet she has a very successful career. There’s always this air of mystery that surrounds her and nothing seems to be an obstacle for her – except for this unrequited love she has for another guy. I could so relate to Alicia; it’s a very bittersweet feeling to love someone yet know that the person doesn’t feel the same way. And so, she lives a pretty lonely and bland life, that is, until she meets Dex, and all her appearances and defenses just crumble.

To everyone else, Dex is just a famous rockstar and everyone wants a piece of him, but what Dex really wants is to be able to play music in peace – he thrives off of his songs, his music and loathes the attention that comes with it. On top of which, something tragic happened in his past and now he craves music to take his mind out of the darkness. He’s a daredevil, he’s wild, he’s bold, and I love everything that makes up this flawed, broken man.

Alicia and Dex, both people tortured by their pasts, find solace in one another.

Unrequited is the first book by Melody Grace that I read. I did not know there was a whole series but you can bet that the rest of the books in the Beachwood Bay series is on my TBR list.

Melody Grace has a way of grabbing hold of her readers and take them on a roller coaster ride of emotions. She was the ability to let her readers experience the journey of her characters right along with them.

Unrequited has everything a reader wants in a book... regret, guilt, lies, forgiveness, extreme attraction, want, need, steamy sex, love, and then it all wraps up with a great HEA. Can't wait to read the rest of the Beachwood Bay Series.
