We’ve all had crushes in our lives. But how often do you get a chance to be with the one you crushed over for years? Would you take that chance if it arose? Even to just be with them once? Winter Donovan got that chance and threw all caution to the wind and enjoyed the moments. The next thing she did was run for the man is her sister’s ex-boyfriend and there are lines women shouldn’t cross. It was a night that she’ll never forget, their chemistry was electric, their connection felt so real.
Finn O’Malley never expected to run into Winter that night at the diner while he was grieving over his father’s death. There is something deeply comforting about her presence and she’s definitely not a child anymore but an attractive woman that he wants. One night was enough for him to want more of her in his life but he waited too long after she ran to get in touch and now has to convince her to date him and it won’t be easy for family drama stands in the way at every turn.
Winter and Finn are two very interesting and likable characters with sad family stories. They are two people who had known each other in the past under different circumstances meeting again and finding a strong sexual attraction between them. The more time they spent with each other the more they found that they liked who each other was. Misconceptions they had from other people were erased. Their romance was quite sweet and so sexy. They both wanted more but family stood in the way. There was character growth for both of them though more so for Winter who had to learn tough love and that it is okay to be selfish. We all need to satisfy ourselves. When family relationships are destructive then you have to let go even if it hurts to do so or forever be unhappy.Read more ›
The story felt contrived, I felt like I saw all the strings in the background being pulled to get the story to where the author wanted it be, hopefully that makes sense. This as well as the contradictory nature of the characters pulled me out of the story and took away from my overall enjoyment of it. I know first person narrators are are unreliable but their contradictions were just too much they would say one thing and then act or do another thing later on.
Despite that there were parts I really enjoyed and chuckled over, Finn's "I don't like you living with a penis" speech was one of them. My favorite sex scene took place at Finn's parents house. *fans self* Overall it was an enjoyable read.

The perfect soundtrack while reading this song is katy perry's Mannequin. Very well written. About unrequited love and regrets.Published 1 month ago by Carolyn
I'm a huge fan of J Frederick, but this one was hard to get through... enough errors in the first few pages that I nearly put it down- not something I'm used to in her books. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Girl Writes Words
Oh, my goodness, I liked Finn. He made a few mistakes, but his heart was in the right place. And when he decided he wanted Winter as more than just a hook-up, he went for it. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Kelly Rubidoux
