I had to go back and check that I'd read some of this author's previous work (which I had). I really intensely disliked the writing style of this book and some of the characters, one being the h. I didn't remember the previous books being so filled with explicit sex. My take on that is well documented so I'm not going to get into it, except for saying that there should be more story. The lower star reviewers hinted at the problem that the h kept taking her dysfunctional, sleaze bag of a sister's part even when she knew that the sister was trying to break her and the H up - I expected it but didn't enjoy how it was resolved. It's a typical NA drama filled but tacky solution. The H was portrayed really well and in him, I saw glimmers of what I liked so much about the author's writing in the first 2 books (I gave both 4 stars). Anyway if you're into this series then you may want to read this. If you haven't read the others then I'd recommend skipping this one.

We’ve all had crushes in our lives. But how often do you get a chance to be with the one you crushed over for years? Would you take that chance if it arose? Even to just be with them once? Winter Donovan got that chance and threw all caution to the wind and enjoyed the moments. The next thing she did was run for the man is her sister’s ex-boyfriend and there are lines women shouldn’t cross. It was a night that she’ll never forget, their chemistry was electric, their connection felt so real.

Finn O’Malley never expected to run into Winter that night at the diner while he was grieving over his father’s death. There is something deeply comforting about her presence and she’s definitely not a child anymore but an attractive woman that he wants. One night was enough for him to want more of her in his life but he waited too long after she ran to get in touch and now has to convince her to date him and it won’t be easy for family drama stands in the way at every turn.

Winter and Finn are two very interesting and likable characters with sad family stories. They are two people who had known each other in the past under different circumstances meeting again and finding a strong sexual attraction between them. The more time they spent with each other the more they found that they liked who each other was. Misconceptions they had from other people were erased. Their romance was quite sweet and so sexy. They both wanted more but family stood in the way. There was character growth for both of them though more so for Winter who had to learn tough love and that it is okay to be selfish. We all need to satisfy ourselves. When family relationships are destructive then you have to let go even if it hurts to do so or forever be unhappy.

I was really looking forward to reading this book because it's kind of taboo, wanting your sister's ex-boyfriend and crossing that line that you shouldn't to be with him so I was excited to see how the author would do with it but I have to say I was disappointed.

The story felt contrived, I felt like I saw all the strings in the background being pulled to get the story to where the author wanted it be, hopefully that makes sense. This as well as the contradictory nature of the characters pulled me out of the story and took away from my overall enjoyment of it. I know first person narrators are are unreliable but their contradictions were just too much they would say one thing and then act or do another thing later on.

Despite that there were parts I really enjoyed and chuckled over, Finn's "I don't like you living with a penis" speech was one of them. My favorite sex scene took place at Finn's parents house. *fans self* Overall it was an enjoyable read.

This was not a romance. It was an endlessly repetitive cycle of sex, angst, confusion and a mentally torturous book to read. I don't think this author knew what was going on in her own story, she kept falling back on the doll-like physical appearance of the heroine, who was extremely forgettable, except she was a main character and oh yes, the hero referenced her tiny body, her puffy nipples, her small breasts and the fact that he spent most of the book with his face in her privates. Not only does this not a romance make, it felt borderline pedophilic with her childlike appearance being the primary reason he was with her. She had a big heart? Really? It did not come through In the awful writing, that must have been the only thing big then, because the rest of her was oh so small and doll-like.

I'm loving this series! Finn's book was at the top of my TBR list and I've got to say that I wasn't disappointed! I really loved his character, I worried about him in other books so it was nice to actually get to see Finn. Winter has probably been one of my favorite girls of this series as well, it was very to relate to her. The struggle and the guilt she felt, all a product of some really great in depth writing!

Can't wait for Adam's book!

They are well thought out with interesting likable characters that you actually want to read about. Her heroes - good men that you want to see succeed. Her heroines - smart capable women.
