Unrequited: A Rock Star Romance (Unrequited Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
My proper southern belle mama might disagree, but I say I was born to be a rebel. From the second I got my hands on a pair of drumsticks, my future was sealed. I never fit in anyway, not with my rocker soul and curves that never take a day off.
But what’s a drummer without a band? Oh, that’s right. A cocktail waitress.
That is, until the chance of a lifetime falls into my lap—Unrequited needs a drummer, and I happen to have an ‘in’ with the band.
The only trouble is, Santiago Garza, Unrequited’s broody, scowly bassist, doesn’t want me in his band, which is kind of funny, considering he was the one who took my heart and stomped all over it five years ago.
My career is far more important than hurt feelings though, so Santiago can suck it up and deal. That’s what I’m doing, no matter how many times I remember the feel of his lips on mine. I won’t fall for him this time. I’m done being anyone’s second choice.
"These two together are a beautiful view of the magnificence of true love." -Britt, Red Hatters Book Blog
"Santiago's loyalty was admirable, his dirty talk was panty melting, and his sweetness totally swoon worthy." -Jolene
"Oh my!! Julia Wolf did it again! I laughed out loud, cried tears of sadness and tears of joy." -Nicole
"Maeve is every woman who's ever been told she doesn't fit the mold. She owns her curves and sways those hips to the beat of her own drum. When she's on stage, those drums get louder." -Beth"Thank you, Julia Wolf, for giving us a girl to pull for who doesn't have a perfect body. She's genuinely one of the gutsiest girls I've read about in a long time." -Trish"Julia is at it again...... making me fall in love with her rock stars. ;) Although this go around I have a major GIRL CRUSH on Maeve O'Day!" -Amber"Santi and Maeve are such amazing characters. I love that Maeve isn't a size 2, and that Santi is loyal beyond belief." -Mandy

Maeve has become one of my all time favorite characters. She is a curvy, rebellious, bad-ass drummer that sounds like a southern belle. She never lived up to her mother's ideals as the perfect southern belle. She was too curvy and outspoken. She secretly took drum lessons instead of instruments her mother approved of. Only a few people knew she played drums for years.
At 18, the summer after graduation, Maeve hung out at her best friend Yael's house where she watched and listened to her friends "Mo" Moses, and "Murray" band practice. Maeve would practice her drums in the morning before the band arrived. One morning Santiago arrived early and saw her play. He joined her playing as well. Maeve ended up falling for the older musician but unfortunately at the end of the summer, he broke her heart. Santiago and Mo's band went off to become famous.
She rejected college and went to the West Coast with her friend Haven and Haven's younger brother Liam to pursue her own musical career. Maeve became a real bad-ass drummer with her own unique style. Things didn't work out for them in LA so they returned to the east coast ending up in New York. One night, while waiting tables in NY, Maeve runs into Mo's now famous band minus a drummer. Yael secretly brings the band to see Maeve play and gets her an audition. But can Maeve work and play with the man who broke her heart 5 years ago??
Ms Wolf makes it so I can't wait for Mo and Murray's stories and I truly hope we get Haven's story as well. She brings her characters to life so you fall in love with all of them. She even made Santiago's younger brother Diego someone I cared about by the end and now wonder about his story.
You will love this story as much as I did and will look forward to more as well.
Santiago is noted my #1 book boyfriend

I think most of us can relate to the title of the book at some point, there's always one that got away.
Maeve and Santiago's story evolves to show what could happen when that illusive one is found and never really forgotten.
It's great to read a book that's not just boy meets girl, chocolates and flowers.
The rock star aspect of the characters brings an edge to the romance, the looks the touches, the electricity between Maeve and Santiago is palpable. And OMG how do they even, in a tour bus, with the other band members in the vicinity no less!!
You're left wanting to know more about Santi's past and Maeve and Santi's future.
Oh and you really wanna hear their music too, I love a good rock band... X
