I'm a New Yorker who writes THE MANHATTANITES, a contemporary romantic soap opera of full length, stand alone novels, and it's juicy prequel, companion series THE UNDERGRAD YEARS. My stories feature alpha billionaire possessive dominant bad boys and the intelligent women who lust after them.
Chances are if you enjoy reading books by E.L. James, Sylvia Day, Maya Banks, Olivia Cunning, Alice Clayton, Christina Lauren, and Tara Sivec than you'll enjoy my erotic romance novels.
When I'm not writing, I'm usually watching The Bold & The Beautiful, taking a spin class, or out and about enjoying all the wonderful things the city life has to offer.

Unfortunately, it all went down pretty much from there. The opening chapter was not well constructed, things were a bit confusing. There was some hinted at fat shaming. I continued reading. Maybe things would get better, right? Maybe that was the only issue with the book.
No. It kept going. There were many problems I had with this. Some of them come from my own belief that people shouldn't have to starve themselves to be beautiful (and there were many references to replacement meals and just drinking your lunch) and some came from the main character actually sexually assaulting her employees and making reference to having done so in the past. Sex is great. Power exchanges are even great, WHEN THEY ARE CONSENSUAL.
Between that, the terrible writing, and the really weird way the author would try to be very brash and apologetic about how brash she was being about sex simultaneously (he slapped her in the face *respectfully* - cool, why not just have him slap her and make it clear they both like it? Cause that's totally fine.) really turned me off to this book. This is probably the first book I've read in at least five years that I wasn't able to finish.
I do not recommend it in any way shape or form.

At thirty-three, Warner Truman is one of the richest men on the planet, a spa mogul who buys and sells resorts at will. He holds powerful executives' careers in his well-groomed hands. Nothing is beyond Warner's reach...until he meets her.
Stunning, tantalizing and perverse, Taddy Brill captivates Warner's carnal desire like no woman he's ever met. A self-made millionaire, Taddy is tougher than steel, more brilliant than diamonds and, at twenty-seven, she's never depended on a man for anything...until she meets him.
The more Taddy plays with Warner's affections, driving him to erotic heights, the more she is confronted by a dark past. Before she can love him, Taddy must meet her worst fears head-on or risk losing it all, including herself.
Unscrupulous is a real attention grabber! I was hooked by page 1. I loved the scene where Taddy, and her friends are in her office looking through windows of other high rise buildings close by with binoculars. I laughed so hard. I can actually imagining people doing that.
Warner is a little uptight after finding out his fiance was a gold digger and not who she said she was. Problem is, he can't get rid of her, she's still trying to latch onto her sugar daddy.
Taddy is a workaholic and a self-made millionaire. But Taddy's childhood was a very unhappy one and she still hasn't gotten over some of the things that happened to her. She has great friends that help her through the rough times.
The sexual tension between Warner and Taddy is terrific and builds throughout the story. I liked Warner and Taddy very much. Their characters were extremely well written and also seemed very real. The secondary characters were wonderful and added depth and dimension to the book. I loved the world Ms. Aster created for her characters.
This story has a lot of emotions and some surprises thrown in that make it a pleasure to read. There was just enough humor written in to make me laugh. I really enjoyed reading Unscrupulous.
Warner Truman, (33) is a billionaire widower who owns Truman Enterprises. He ran into Taddy, who was using an alias at one of his resorts. He was immediately impressed with her, but due to circumstances beyond his control the evening ended abruptly and he was unable to get her real name and address or phone number. He thought of her constantly and tried every way that he knew of to find out her real name and where he could find her with no luck.
About 5 months later, he was at a police station pressing charges against a woman for trespassing, when who should walk in but Taddy!
I loved the main characters. They had both had hard lives but as alphas they used that to propel them to very successful careers. They both had tender hearts but were tigers in the business world. The supporting characters were colorful and definitely fun people with the exception of Taddy's parents. I loved the story line and the sexual tension throughout the book. There were plenty of smiles and a few tears and some really hot sex making this book hard to put down. I was also very impressed with the 'extras' that the author included. There is a Cast of Characters: Major Players
at the very beginning of the book. I smiled at this because I am the type reader who has a pad and pen next to me while I read so I can jot down the characters and a bit of info so that I don't have ,to go back and look them up later in the book. Also, 'The Companies Involved' puts this info in the front for easy access also. The 'Author's Note' also in the front of the book, gave the reader a bit of history before reading the book which was also helpful.
I was very impressed with the book. I felt that it was very well thought out and well written and a lot of effort went into making this an easy read for the user.
*This was a Net Galley win for an honest review. I honestly loved it!
