This really is kind of finishing up things that were started in the previous book The Seelie King: The Kings, Book Five but stands on its own pretty much but it grabs you from almost page one and the action hardly slows down.

Minerva the sister of the now Seelie Queen is possibly the most powerful fae alive or at least one of them but she is out of control at the beginning of this book and the Unseelie King already knows she is destined to be his queen, what he does not know is how he will ever get the angry powerful woman to accept him (seeing as how she tries to kill him on the first few pages). He has a LOT of work ahead of him

There is also still a creeping overarching story-line of a prophesy that there is a traitor among the Kings so that story moves along also in this book.

Bottom Line: This is just another 5 Star book in a 5 Star series, The Kings is one of the best series in paranormal romance/urban fantasy being written today IMHO and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book The Shadow King. All of these books have been great, some better than others but all immensely entertaining and leaves you desperate for the next one without using cliffhangers.

There is a real beauty in the way this author uses words to draw us into an incredible manifestation of her imagination. Considering we can go all the way back to the wolves where it all began and then journey through to this latest book and still be caught up in this amazing world says so much more than I ever could. I do realise that I could be biased as I have read everything this writer has written but then the fact that I have done that and still continue to follow her also says a lot.

What can I say? I love Cal like I have loved all the kings and wish I had been the 'wisher'. Then again I have wanted to be on the receiving end of our heroes right from the very first and I daresay I will continue to do so till the end. This is the love all women hunger for and few of us receive and if words can magically make us believe for just a little while it is only fair the words receive high praise and a five star rating.

This 6th book in the Kings Series is yet another exciting journey. All the elements we have grown to love while reading the Kings Series are there. Watching as Caliban fights to get his queen Minerva to accept her place as his side is a roller coaster of love danger and excitement. There are a few laughable moments and as always Heather drops hints throughout the book to set us up for the next tale or even further down the line. I'll tell you this much you'll finish reading this book wishing that you were a "Wisher" yourself just so you could have the 7th book in your hand.

I was so excited when this book was released. I love this series. The characters stay true to how the where originally described. Even the characters that where in the previous books keep true. Just a great read.

Wow I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't happy with the last one and this one definitely made up for it. This is one author that no matter what I buy anything and everything she writes. Even if the book isn't a favorite I enjoy the story anyway. She's just that good.

This was my favorite book in the series (I think I've said that about every book in this series!). I would recommend reading the first five books in the series before beginning this one. Heather Killough-Walden's world building is so detailed, you will have no problem imagining the scenes as if you are right there with the characters. The romance is intense and steamy. The secondary characters are well developed and contribute a lot to the story. I look forward to learning more about them in future books in the series. I can't wait for Book Seven!

Another wonderful story, with a peek into the future books. I have found in many series by the 5th or 6th book the stories seemed forced or written under the obligation to finish the series; not this one. Heather writes with passion and love for her characters. She keeps the King and Queen as the center and focus; while weaving in at the right moments the ongoing story line that is the theme of the series. There is a natural progression in how the Kings are finding their Queens. This is just another example of Heather's amazing ability engage and make her readers invested in the characters.

This one has become my new favorite over Goblin King and Phantom King. Caliban really took his time getting Minerva to trust him and take her place as queen. Minerva went thru her own journey of learning to trust herself, have faith in other people, and not become jaded. She's suffered so much from losing her parents, dealing with her true identity and overwhelming powers. She easily could have went evil and that's hat I loved about this book too. It's okay to have a dark side- it can make you powerful, gives you depth and empathy beyond most people's understanding. It's the driving force to Minerva's magic and dis spells the myth that dark equal evil. I just love the chess analogy, it works so well for the power struggle with the kings and queens, all the pawns, etc. The Shadow King seems rather elusive, but I already like the h Violet(a woman who loves to read,go figure)- can't wait to see what HKW does with it.
