"The stories told here will echo your own. They echoed my own stories and brought me great comfort. There is also a strength in all of the stories to help anyone who is struggling to forgive someone else or themselves. I highly recommend this book!"  -Mindy Lee

This book eloquently and clearly discusses the often-time difficult topic of forgiveness. Forgiveness of others and forgiveness of ourselves. It is centered in the Bible and shares personal experiences of forgiveness. In the experiences shared, I saw my own, making this book even more powerful for me.

This book not only talks about forgiveness and the benefits of being able to forgive and the destructiveness of not being able to forgive, but it also gives you steps to take to help you on that path. Little steps that can make a huge difference, day after day, week after week.

The stories told here will echo your own. They echoed my own stories and brought me great comfort. There is also a strength in all of the stories to help anyone who is struggling to forgive someone else or themselves. I highly recommend this book!

On the surface, forgiveness is a pretty simple concept, so why write a book about it? The problem is, beneath the surface, forgiveness is neither simple nor easy to put into practice. As this varied and captivating (often emotionally moving) collection of stories demonstrates, since each hurtful life event differs, so the obstacles to forgiveness differ. Unshackled and Free tackles these obstacles, not by preaching at us, but by letting those who overcame the obstacles tell their stories.

In this book I met people who've been wronged in a multitude of ways - betrayed by a friend, molested by a relative, cheated on by a spouse, "let down" by God. Each story is short enough to read in a five minute daily devotion, and that's the way I'd advise reading it. Those struggling with forgiveness (or struggling to understand it) need time to reflect on each story in order to internalize it.

In my personal experience, I've known many fine, upstanding people who drew their moral line at forgiveness. Someone had wronged them and they simply refused to let it go. Sadly, in punishing the perpetrator with unforgiveness, they cursed themselves with a festering bitterness. So I have a passion for the message of this book. Read it yourself, then get a copy for your friends and children. Life's too short to live it enslaved to bitterness.

I gave this book five stars for a marvelous and fantastic how to book on forgiveness! On how to di it for for self and yet know one does not have to do it alone but can ask God, our Father to help us where and when, etc. to be able to be
free! They used stories of other people besides themselves also, scriptures, and how to do it prayers, too!
I liked it all for all the reasons that I have already mentioned above. I recommend this book for all those who can admit that they may have up forgiveness, bitterness, etc. and see that they could and do need helpo do just this but being set free from forgiveness and being in prison to jealousy, bitterness, and hatred, etc. all those negative things that beset up and that God, ourFather wants us to be free of . I received this book free from the authors in exchange for doing reviews for them once zi had finished reading it! You will not be sorry at all for buying it at all! Great job!

Christians are forgiven people, and we are commanded to forgive those who sin against us. We all know that. But when it comes to the crunch, when it is actually time to forgive someone, it becomes terribly hard to do.

It is all very well knowing in theory what we must do, to know the Bible verses, to know why we must do it. What we often need instead is to see examples of forgiveness in action. Example after example after example. And that is just what this book provides.

Many of the stories are heart-wrenching. The woman for whom forgiveness has become a "necessary habit" after so many tragedies in her life. The woman whose fiancé murdered her daughter, then spent only four years behind bars - yet she still prays for God's grace on his life. The victim of childhood sexual abuse who nearly succumbed to alcohol, drugs and self-harm, but who "found life anew through Christ Jesus" and who "can never forget, yet I can forgive."

One of the most inspiring stories tells of a woman confronted by her husband's betrayal. In church she suddenly understood that God had been silent because she was placing her own desires ahead of obedience to Him. "And now, with a clear view of my new path, my anger and self-pity turned to constant prayer for my husband." They are now celebrating thirty-six years of marriage.

This is a powerful book. It is confronting and it is challenging. But for any Christian struggling with issues of forgiveness it could prove a Godsend.

This is a collection of true stories of people, many of whom had been wronged in a terrible way. Anyone who finds they are having a difficult time forgiving someone of a past wrong may be helped tremendously by reading this book. If these people can forgive, certainly we should be able too. After all, God tells us in His WORD that we must forgive others in order to be forgiven by Him.

The certainty in life remains that there will be others that cross our path who will need to be forgiven. Age has no boundaries for those that will suffer the sting of injustice but neither does forgiveness; for all, God's desire is that we cast the situation at His feet and forgive wholeheartedly.

Authors Shelley and CJ Hitz, along with Heather Hart have allowed a variety of individuals to share their stories of forgiveness in an effort to encourage you in the challenges you face or will face in the future. Forgiving is easier said than done but the remedies in this book will help along the way. As you read of the cries of individuals that felt chained, burdened, and in despair over situations involving murder, strained friendships, molestation, divorce, abandonment, and family issues, you will also hear their victorious endings that will inspire you in your journey. Some of these accounts of redemptive forgiveness will warm your heart and inspire you to reconsider the situation(s) in which you struggle with unforgiveness. As you look closer at God that can perfect your inabilities and gain strategies from this book on how to rid yourself of the toxic bondages that anger and unforgiveness bring, you will discover a more wholesome outlook while restoring relationships that could have been severed for years.

This book not only served me with information in forgiving others but equipped me with tools I can share with friends and others that are facing painful challenges in their lives. There are prayers enclosed that can be orally or silently read that invokes the power of the Holy Spirit and confesses repentance of sins.
