Myka is a smart, tough heroine, but she makes it very hard to like her. She is brash and intentionally pushes people away. Her painful past makes it easy to understand why she is so reluctant to get close to people, particularly men. However, she continues to act this way even after Ari proves he has no intention of abandoning her or forcing her do something she’s not comfortable with. She is so used to protecting her emotions that I think she forgets that her actions hurt others.
Ari is a good match for Myka and he demonstrates incredible patience in putting up with her rash actions. He is there when she needs him, but he always gives her the freedom to choose her own path. Ari and Myka definitely have a strong physical attraction, but I do wish there had been more interaction between the two. Ari and Myka don’t spend much time together, and when they are together, Ari is usually getting Myka out of trouble. When they do have some downtime, Myka squanders it by pushing him away. Their antagonistic interactions made it hard for me to believe they had truly fallen in love in such a short time.
The pacing of Unspoken is very well done. The last part of the tale is particularly intense as Myka learns more about her past and the reason she’s been framed for the witch’s murder. The ruthlessness of the villains in the story is chilling. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how Myka and Ari could ever win against such incredible odds. However, Ms. Garland threw in a twist that evened the playing field considerably and changes Myka’s life forever.
I enjoyed reading Unspoken. I recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced paranormal with a strong, capable heroine.

Lucky for her, she survives her silver injury, is healed by the capturing pack and meets Ari, the alpha. For some reason, he wants to protect her. She just wants to not be framed for murder and go back to being a lone wolf. Ari wants to keep Myka, he is attracted to her so he helps her with the investigation.
Myka is so much fun. Now don't get me wrong, she's a little broken but it doesn't keep her down. She fights for herself and she helps her family. She also makes friends with friendly humans around Ari's pack. She's pretty kick ass and though she's had to be, sometimes I wanna hug her.
Ari is every girls book boyfriend dream. He can be an ass because he's alpha but he's still great. He loves his pack but in the untypical fashion, he'd like to keep peace instead of fighting for it. He leads with respect not fists and fighting though he will if he needs. He's pretty bad ass himself and he's HAWT!
The plot kept me glued to the page! I wanted to know about the secrets surrounding Myka's change and who killed the witch and who's framing Myka! I of course wanted to make sure she got a HEA after all she's been through. There's romance, action, mystery and wonderful writing. I was especially happy with the ending of those bad guys lol! You'll also see a few familiar characters if you've read any other books by this author :) I hope to see these wonderful wolves again and I look forward to the next book!! 5 WOLFY PAWS!!
Myka is a lone wolf in a world that doesn't really have a place for lone wolves. Pack life is the only way to go. She's turned herself into a paranormal bounty hunter to provide for her brother and his family. Myka wasn't born as a werewolf, she was turned. She can also generate her own magic, which is not normal in the werewolf world, but very helpful since she has no pack. Her latest bounty is a rogue witch and it's a pretty purse attached to it. As soon as she's zeroed in on Tara and almost close enough to take her in, an arrow ends Tara's life right in front of her. Then the same person that took aim at Tara is now firing at Myka. She takes off in a run, but is hit several times. The arrows are silver which is not a good thing for her. She finally runs out of steam but did manage to elude her pursuer, but she's sure she's going to die. She wakes up to find herself surrounded by wolves and a house of a man staring down at her. Her mouth has never really been her asset and it doesn't help her with confronting this Alpha. Ari questions her on why she's on Pack land without permission. She explains that she was chasing a bounty and someone killed her bounty then attacked her. Ari takes her back to the camp and has his doctor heal her. She realizes exactly how much trouble she's in when she recovers and finds her old Alpha's lawyer waiting for her. Lelibea isn't a friendly wolf and tries to force her services onto Myka since everyone knows that Myka will be charged with the murder of Tara and her license will probably be revoked. After Ari took Myka back to camp, Tara's body was found with no arrows and full of knives, Myka's signature weapon. Someone is out to get her and she has no clue who it is. She has problems trusting anyone after the way her Pack treated her. She flees Ari's camp to do like she always has, take care of herself. She gets as far as she can, but eventually tires out and finds an out of the way motel. After an hour she's startled awake to find two wolves breaking in her room and attacking her. She's so frightened but hears Ari assuring her in her mind that he's almost there. He and his Prime, Boston, arrive just in time and the attackers take off. Myka realizes how much trouble she actually is in now. Someone is out to make sure that she will not survive and the list of enemies she's accumulated over the years is too long to figure out. Myka doesn't knows she doesn't have much time. Ari offers his protection and that of his Pack. She realizes that she does need him to figure this out even if that idea grates at her sense of self. Can her and Ari figure this out before something worse happens? Before whoever is after her finds her brother and his kids? Trust is something foreign to her, but she is going to have to trust Ari to live.
