There’s a long list of things I don’t handle well:
Change.
Relationships.
Breakups.
But there’s one person above everything else I can’t seem to get a handle on.
Brody Wallace.
In short, he’s perfect. The reality, he scares me.He’s the opposite of what I usually go for. He’s bigger. Intimidating. He reminds me of someone I’d rather forget.
When I need to find a new place to live, Brody offers me his spare room, but I have no plans on taking him up on the offer. He doesn’t know what happened to me five years ago, and I want to keep it that way.But with limited options, I find myself outside his apartment holding a full moving box and wondering: How can I do this without exposing the darkest part of my past?
**Unspoken Vow is a full-length MM romance with a HFN/HEA. It deals with mental illness. Please check trigger warnings in the front matter.**

She doesn’t take anything too seriously and lives to create an escape from real life for her readers. The ideas always begin with a wackadoodle premise, and she does her best to turn them into romances with heart.
She's also an Australian girl and apologises for her Australianisms that sometimes don't make sense to anyone else.

This story had a lot of emotional ups and downs, but the one thing that I loved about Anders was even when things got bad again (cause they always will), he kept fighting, sometimes without realizing it. That's the most important thing that someone with his conditions can do, is not give up.
I have enjoyed this series, and would like to read more from this author.
I would recommend this book, series, and author.
There are some heavy topics at play here, which you’d expect when dealing with issues like the aftermath of an attack by someone you trusted. Anders’ issues and reactions felt completely authentic to me, and I thought the author did a really nice job handling some sensitive topics. I also liked her use of humor to lighten things and leave some emotional breathing space; I can get antsy if things are too intense for too long—it makes me want to skip ahead in the story—but that never happened here.
Anders starts off saying no to Brody every time Brody asks him out n a date so there’s quite a relationship evolution between the two throughout the story, making this more of a slow burn, but that doesn’t mean things don’t get hot. I loved how patient, protective and caring Brody was towards Anders (and that he‘s not perfect, having his own, entirely different, set of baggage) and I love how being with Brody gives Anders the additional incentive to deal with his issues. I was so caught up in these characters and their relationship, I was completely blindsided by a plot twist I probably would have seen coming with a different author, so, yeah, I was fully engaged. Btw, that plot twist? Totally broke my heart, so kudos to the author.
The stage is mostly held by the two main characters, but there are a few secondary characters around, including Reed and Law from the first book, who get a nice follow-up near the end. I particularly loved Lucky aka Meatball, the cat Brody’s sister rescued, but is living with Brody and...yeah, it’s complicated, lol. It was a superb touch by the author, adding some of that humor I mentioned earlier, while at the same time allowing her characters to touch on the topic of abuse regarding someone besides Anders. There IS a little secret keeping as part of the plot, but again, I was so into the story that I barely noticed something that’s usually a pet peeve of mine. Seriously, this author did an amazing job holding onto my attention.
An emotional, engaging, amazing read that was just about perfect, I’m adding this to my list of favorite books of the year. 5+ stars

I never feel like Eden’s books need to be shorter or get stale in the middle. The dialogue between the characters is wonderful. I hate it when author’s forget that inner monologue is not everything. Eden’s characters always communicate in a good way.
The jokes between characters are always fun and cause me to laugh out loud. Eden’s stories always seem fresh and worth the time to read. I trust Eden to take me on a serious journey of love in the lives of two fully fleshed out characters with fully formed supporting characters by their side.
The fake boyfriend series is still my favorite, but the Steele brothers are a very close second. I’ll definitely be reading more books from this author.

So many emotions. Beautifully written. When you get to the end of the book, read the Dear Reader but and you will understand.
Thoroughly deserved a five star rating.
Thank you Eden for an insight into your world and your life.

I loved Anders struggle and persistence, amazingly told story that was difficult to write but so worth the effort.
I loved Brody's determination and patience, always there for Anders, putting his needs above his own, his perfect partner.
🎧 Ugh, again with the stilted performance & most ridiculous pronunciation of "ass" ever by Antony Ferguson (we don't even use ass in Australia, it's always arse so I have no idea why that choice was made by the author & then butchered by the narrator), I skipped some of his chapters in the audiobook. Joel Leslie was much better here than book 1 & I wish he had read the entire thing 🎧

Brody was an amazing character as well. I had to keep remembering that he was the same age as Reed, and therefore 4 years younger than the twins, as he came across as such a confident and mature individual. He was the rock for Anders when needed, and was so understanding and supportive when Anders finally filled him in on the anxieties and the attack. His willingness to work with Anders to avoid triggers also meant he learnt some new things about himself too. The alternating POV allowed us to see Brody struggling with the morality, or lack thereof to be more precise, associated with being a criminal defence lawyer. I loved that he stuck to his morals and that we got closure with that plotline in the end too.
I hope we get more in this series - even if it's a few small novellas down the track - as the Steele brothers were amazing and I would love to see more of them and their HEAs.
Definitely a book I would recommend, but you have to read book 1 first!

Anders is suffering from PTSD, anxiety and a few other issues, all related to an attack on him 5 yrs ago. Brody was normally the type of guy he would go for before the attack but now this type is one of his triggers. So how can he have a relationship of any sort with this guy if it induces a panic attack?
I loved how in depth and real Anders mental health and thought path was. It wasn’t exaggerated and played up because the Author has been through these issues herself and knows exactly how they work. I loved that Brody kept persisting and that Anders really wanted to try to get better. And I’m so fricken proud and amazed at Eden for writing about these issues.
