"It is remarkable that as a generation with unprecedented opportunities, so many of us have believed the lie that we simply “can’t.” However, the Word of God never returns void. (See Isaiah 55:11.) Unstuck is a wonderful reminder of the promises of Jeremiah 29:11—that the Lord has plans and purposes for our future, which will be fulfilled if we persevere. Our Father says that we can! We just need to hold on to hope, by faith and patience, and press through the hurdles that try to hinder us. Knowing our identity as overcomers in Christ, we inherit the promises. Through his personal stories and anecdotes, Chris DuPré exhorts us that it is possible to break through the facades of fear, rejection, delay, intimidation by the unknown, and more. Unstuck is a gift to believers in all seasons of life, inspiring them to believe again that though we may face challenges and feel knocked down, as the righteous we get back up, seven times over! (See Proverbs 24:16.)"

"Chris DuPré has written a deeply powerful work inspired by the Holy Spirit that sets people free. It is one of those books that we need to read over and over and let the words sink in deeply to our hearts to bring change and healing in our lives. I love it!"
“Perhaps you have wondered why you are not more highly motivated or why you don’t go for greater fulfillment in life. Can this be changed? Yes! Unstuck by Chris DuPré will help you! Chris explains how beliefs held in the heart such as fear, rejection, and pride, act like quicksand, keeping us from rising to our potential. Discouragement sets in, and we back off. But if you honestly face your issues, you can get unstuck and go for your dreams. Well done, Chris; the nation and the world need this message desperately.”

“When Jesus was asked questions concerning the issues of life, He would often tell stories. Some of those stories are called parables—real or fictional illustrations with applications for understanding life and how things really work. Similarly, Chris DuPré, a collector of wisdom and a master storyteller, has packed the pages of Unstuck with real-life experience and insight. He writes with delightful transparency that makes wisdom easy to find. This is a book to read and share. If you don’t need ‘unsticking,’ then surely your friends and family do!”

Except I didn’t expect the author to be so personable, funny and kind in each page of the book. Within the first chapter, Chris Dupré had me disarmed and totally hooked.
Some of the trials that I have faced lately…of which are bigger than I ever thought I could carry…have left me feeling stagnant and fearful. Unfortunately, I have carried this fear with me into just about every facet of my life. (I’m not exaggerating. I have to give myself a pep talk before I head to the grocery store, even.) But I hadn’t looked at fear as keeping me stuck, or at least hadn’t admitted it to myself, until I really allowed myself to sink into this book. Man, what a sneaky critter fear is.
In Unstuck, the author uses lessons from his own life, as well as lessons learned from some familiar names (here’s looking at you, Walt Disney) to illustrate what it means to be stuck and the various ways that we find ourselves in a rut; sometimes without even knowing it. Imagine a life of freedom; imagine being set free by the King. And then…then what amazing things could He accomplish through your life?
I really enjoyed this book. While it definitely has a self-help feel to it, it feels more like the author is standing in your corner and cheering you on. A very nice read.
Mr. Dupré has written an excellent book that provides insight and help for those struggling with their place in life. It is full of stories, quotes, and while the conclusions seem simple, they are difficult to solve if we remain “stuck” in our routines. The style is informal, almost as if Mr. Dupré is having a conversation with his readers. It is a quick and meaningful read and one that I will most likely reread over and over.
The chapter on comfort zones was one of my favorites. It is easy for humans to fall into them and are difficult to get out of. Fear is the driving force behind leaving our comfort zones and Mr. Dupré devotes a chapter to fear as well. I will say that reading this book helped solidify a life change I had been praying about for a while and I’m sure I’m not the only one!
The chapter on character demonstrates a profound understanding of human nature. People know when you are not being truthful about who you are. We want people to have integrity and are often disappointed when they prove they do not, and the author delivers his conclusions on character perfectly.
I also appreciated the idea presented that it is usually not one thing in our lives that can make us “stuck” in place. Moments in our lives build on each other and make us who we are, and trying to pin down what caused us to become complacent or fearful of leaving our comfort zones can be disheartening or even create bigger problems in our lives.
The emphasis on listening to God instead of others, even those who love us and want the best for us, is present throughout the entire book. Scriptures used by Mr. Dupré are abundant and relevant to the topic at hand.
I give this book 5/5 stars and recommend it to anyone struggling with feeling “stuck” in their lives. Those wanting an easy to read, informative book that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading it should also read this book. You will not be disappointed in Unstuck!

One of the first subjects the author talks about is fear. Oh how I dislike talking about that word. I grew up in fear. I know it well and it has followed me throughout my life. I have always had a fear of not being loved and being rejected by everyone. Growing up in a violent and abusive home can really do a lot of damage to a child. I never knew what it felt like to be loved. My parents made sure I knew I wasn’t loved. I became stuck with the mentality that I was not someone anyone would want. To this day I still do the fight or flight method of coping. After reading this chapter, I took a deep breath. Now I was ready to take my life back. I don’t want to be that little scared girl anymore. I want to be strong and depend on God to give me courage. Yes fear controlled my life because I allowed it to. The author gives wonderful illustrations of how to overcome fear and regain the life you were given.
Another chapter I really liked was about “Age doesn’t matter(unless you are cheese).” This one chapter hit me hard. I had always wanted to be a teacher. I never had the opportunity to go to college, so that dream was shoved aside. I started working at a library that was in conjunction with a college. I loved my job but I still yearned to be a teacher. One day I decided I needed to prove to myself that I was smart and that I could go to college. So at the age of well I was older than all the students, I made it into college. It was overwhelming at first, but I thrived in learning . During this period I was appointed Children’s Pastor at our church. What an humbling experience it was. I then realized that I did fulfill my dream. I was a teacher of many, not just a classroom but of all the children that came to church every week. You are never to old to follow your dream. I learned that by teaching these children, I was beginning to heal from my childhood. God placed me with these children to show them love and letting them know they can overcome whatever is holding them back from their destiny.
I have loved every moment I have spent reading this book. The author touches on subjects that are life changing and shows us how to get “unstuck.” Are you tired of being stuck and feeling hopeless? I recommended that you grab a copy of this book and let God’s voice lead you to freedom.
We are all gifted in one way or another . It’s what we do with those gifts that determine everything.”
