Each couple are looking for something different in their relationship. The gifts are very eye opening and each learns something new about their partner.
The characters are wonderful and I did enjoy the plot. I did find the author did repeat things and I did find my attention wondering. Hana was just too dang sweet and overlooked a lot where Brandy is just the sweetest and really should be with her not the lady he is seeing. Dean is in the relationship and ready to settle down but for all the wrong reasons. I think if he could find a women that would not take any crap and make him stand on his toes he would be more likeable. I really think when he is with his buddy he is likeable just when he is with Hana and takes her for grated it makes him say things that if he thought about them he would not. It is kind of the case of you don’t want to throw out a pair of worn out shoes because they fit to well.
It is hard for me to give this any higher than a 3 when I found my mind wondering so much. The plot was good and the characters outstanding the author just could not keep my attention for very long. Just because it didn’t keep my attention does not mean it will not yours. Each of us like different things so I am sure there will be lots of people who will truly think this is an outstanding read.
I just loved watching Hana grow as a character, finding her own two feet and realizing that she deserved more. Brady was just…everything you would want to find in a man, even with some of his imperfections. And that Dean – if I could have reached into my Kindle and slapped that man aside the head…he’d have a permanent imprint of my hand on his face!
I think the reason I found the book a bit confusing in the beginning had to do with all the characters and trying to keep them straight. You are just kind of thrown into the two relationships without a lot of backstory, so it took a bit to get everything sorted out in my mind as to who was who. As I said, once I got it all sorted, I really enjoyed the story and watching two people find each other and realize that there is a whole lot more to love then they realized.
I was given a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
This story begins with two men, Dean Brady and Brady Deen, buying presents for their girlfriends for Christmas. One intends to propose while the other doesn’t. The two men order identical gifts with different inscriptions. However, there is a mix up at the jewelry store and they end up with the other one’s gift. One couple ends immediately while the other couple stays together for a couple more weeks. Then in a chance meeting, one of the men and the woman from the other couple meet up. Months go by before they see each other again and seem to hit it off when they have more time to spend together. Who will end up with who? Will the original couples reconnect or will another couple be formed?
This book may seem to be confusing at first. However, if you read slowly and pay attention, it isn’t so bad. I may have had to read a few sections more than once just to make sure I was putting the right people together in my head. Overall, the story was good and was able to make me laugh as well as scream.
