I have no idea what this was, but it wasn't good. Grammar issues (past/present, possessive vs plural; awful dialogue; lots of telling rather than showing and a really dramatic plot. Gah. It was like reading a soap opera.

Spoilers!

So much goes on in this book that I can't possibly type it all. In a nutshell, this started out as a story about Angelina who moves to London to work for a family friend's estate agency. She meets a Seth, a client and a known playboy, who continuously pursues her despite her anti-relationship protests. He borders on stalker, but she does like him, enough that it scares her which is why she says no so many times yet still plays along in this game.

She has a traumatic past, and emotional issues, and as it turns out, so does he. Her past comes back to beat her up after he's released from prison for the first time (although the author states he was in for life, apparently he wasn't). And they get through that. They then move on to meeting his parents and his mother hates her. Then they're about to get married and they throw in another twist where it turns out his parents and her parents knew each other which has repercussions on their relationship. Gah. It was too much to keep up with.

The only positive thing about this is that I couldn't predict what was happening.

I didn't find either character romantic. While I usually hate multiple POVs, I think this book have benefited from this technique.

Too much like a soap opera. The writing was very amateurish and there were a lot of editing errors. Doesn't anyone proofread anymore? I like to be able to envision the characters in a story, and that was sorely lacking here. There was no pizzazz, and the story did not flow well. I did finish it, but would say if you skip this one, there's no loss.

These characters are very different from the ones in the Take series also by Jaimie but they are in no way any worse. I would in some ways even say this book is better..
It is so amazingly written and It really takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions because it has some awesome twists that you would never be able to predict.. I really had my heart in my throat a few times because of these twists and that is so absolutely a good thing cuz I love when a book grabs you that much...

Last but not least.. I will have to recommend this book to a lot of people and tell them that I almost read the entire book in one day because I barely was able to put it down :D It really is that good <3

Angelina Bradshaw has always believed that she does not need a man in her life. That's what she has been telling herself her entire adult life. She feels worlds apart from her family’s dreams for her to meet a man, settle down, and have babies. She certainly can’t be doing that because love just gets in the way. She has a 'go to' guy and that's enough for her.
Living in rural Cornwall, she is bored and in desperate need of adventure, so when a family friend offers her a job in London, there's no hesitation. She expected adventure, she expected a new start, but what she didn't expect was to meet a man who would turn her life upside-down. Seth Jacobs is hot, sexy, and can't understand why Angelina doesn't want him. No one has ever said no to Seth Jacobs—in fact—they all fall at his feet.
Seth pursues her relentlessly and Angelina fights him at every corner. He is the only man who has ever affected her, and the need to run from him is immense. However, Seth is not one to give up so easily. He soon finds himself on a mission, determined to win her heart.
Unfortunately for Angelina, all is not well when her past and present collide after receiving some unwelcoming and frightening news from home. She feels desperate and alone, but most of all, she feels she has to push Seth away before it’s too late.
To make matters worse, a catastrophic secret from the past is revealed, threatening to destroy the one thing, Angelina finally holds dear to her heart.

To start with this book deals with very mature subjects. So over 18's only!

I truly loved this book, even though it brought out extreme emotions in me. But in my opinion, if a book doesn't evoke an emotion its not a good book!

I enjoyed the book but wasn't out of my mind for it either. Though it was set in England, I couldn't tell really if the author WAS English or just trying to sound it. The writing was good (not great but ok) but not really well developed. I wanted more from the book, but found it lacking. Overall, though, I stress, I did enjoy the book...

The only thing (despite small editing errors here and there) that TRULY bothered me is the word giggling. While it is the author's choice to use the word for a grown woman (this is a pet peeve of mine), as young children or even teen girls giggle, MEN DO NOT. It annoys me to all out that the author had Seth giggle. Not once, but twice. Men laugh, chuckle, smirk, but they DO NOT GIGGLE. But that is my OCD speaking and hating that part.
