her name with his (ghostwritten) mysteries for years. Every time ER is mentioned,
he has a snide thing to say about her. It's quite remarkable, actually, as he
was hardly an exemplary person himself.
I would not have read this book if everyone in it weren't dead. It makes me feel
rather soiled, but I'm a real FDR/ER fan. Not an Elliott fan however!
Yes, she was without a doubt the hardest working First Lady in our history, but like all of us, we are human
with our faults and sins and her son airs her dirty laundry choosing to show her in a true light (in his viewpoint, anyway)
rather than to just show a one dimensional character. Some people may be offended, some may think she
was a great first lady and ambassador for the country but not a very good wife and a terrible mother and grandmother,
but this book does show a new side of her that many may be unaware of. I found it interesting and glad to see a side
that most politicians and public people hide from the public.
