Perhaps some of my blah feeling for The Frog Prince story came from the setting I was in (dentist office and another medical waiting room) but it just seemed to meander on and on about how miserable they were. I did enjoy the unique twist to the story, but it wasn't enough to erase the plodding feeling to getting there.
The turned around version of Beauty and the Beast was unique but it ended up annoying me instead of intriguing me. I felt Iike I couldn't sympathize with either Beauty or Beast.
I stopped reading in the middle of the 3rd story because it seemed to have the meandering problem of the Frog prince story x30. I'm giving it 3 stars because the idea and effort were good and I feel that just because it didn't appeal to me, there could be people who will enjoy the quirky approach. It's reminiscent of Vivian Vande Velde's story Frogged but in my opinion, it lacks the lighthearted, witty touch of Velde's work.
