Cassius has given up his immortality to save Stephanie and has been granted 30 days to get her to fall in love with him as a human. Cassius’s past comes back to haunt him and makes things between him and Stephanie even more complicated – if that’s even possible once Stephanie’s true identity is publicized. The chemistry between the two is off the charts and once they’re together things really heat up!
I’m not a fan, at all, of flashbacks but I did like the way the author does them in this book, it was necessary for the full understanding of the story and they’re short enough that you’re not just skimming through trying to get back to the “meat” of the book. I love that each book in this series not only focuses on the two main characters but you also get more than just a glimpse of the other characters, they’re all living together in one house so we got to see a lot of the main characters from the previous book as well as characters from future books. This is a super fast paced book – I couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Read and reviewed for Wicked Reads!
The world building was somewhat better, largely because the basic foundation was laid down in the last book, but I struggled with how Cassius could have been the last of his sons living, when as an Angel was wasn't supposed to be reproducing - I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how the other son that Ethan killed in the last book was created - and also, where did all the other Dark Ones that are referenced come from? I'm off to read the next one, largely because Alex is my character.
Loving Cassius wasn’t suppose to be this hard. As the threads of their connection are stretched even further, Cassius gives up even more of himself to save Stephanie from the darkness. Thirty days….it’s the limit Cassius has been given to teach Stephanie everything she needs to know to stay in the light. If Cassius can’t make Stephanie fall in love with him and be his mate, the effects of his new human status will become permanent. As with everything the immortals face, nothing will be as easy as it sounds. Throwing all the immortals into the battle between the light and the dark.
What a tangled web these immortals weave when fighting the darkness that lurks around the corner. Cassius and Stephanie have a unique fight on their hands. One that tests them with layers and layers of secrets that lurk beneath the surface. Vampires, werewolves, angels, sirens, and demons all play a part in this fight against the darkness that threatens to overtake the Earth.
As the second book in the Dark Ones Saga, this novel does not stop building the anticipation over what will come for the characters that all play a part in the fight. Cassius didn’t have to fight as hard for Stephanie as I would have liked, but the ending….well, it was definitely worth every single moment that led up to that point! A great accompaniment to the first book, but can definitely be read on its own.
...Genesis... REALLY~!!!!! You just kinda mention, like its no biggie, she is having twins.. Like this isn't a major event ???
.... I'll stop here with this series. The "sarcasm" and "jokes" are so immature, and not funny at all. But I do hope Mason stopps eating the Dang pinecones ..how ridiculous.

And is it Fall 2016 yet?! I need Alex's story!
I'm not entirely sure where to start with my review... I wasn't entirely sure I was going to LOVE Untouchable Darkness the way I LOVED the Dark Ones BUT I was wrong, so wrong. I adored this book and all it had to offer and I fell even more in love with ALL of the main characters. I loved the on going story and all that was constantly going on and also learning more about Cassius, Sariel and the rest of the elder council (as well as other parts but I won't spoil it for those yet to read!).
The story is much like a delicately weaved spider web. Fragile on first appearance and easy to break apart BUT once you get close its beautiful, powerful and complicated, oh so complicated. When you think you know where the story is heading Rachel completely turns the tables on you and slaps you in the face with more amazing twists and turns than you ever saw coming. You will be left floored and in complete awe believe me. Rachel has a magical way with words and her writing is out of this world!
The Dark Ones Series has very quickly become on of my favourite series!
Take a chance and I guarantee you too will fall in love with the story, the characters and with Rachel herself. But be prepared, you will lose your heart to at least one, if not more, of these amazing characters!!
I absolutely loved the first book so I was really looking forward to Untouchable Darkness and I have to say I was not in the least disappointed.
This book covered Cassius and Stephanie and Rachel's depiction of them was great. She made them multi faceted characters that were much deeper than I could ever have imagined from the first book. You couldn't help but be drawn into them and with their history their romance to me just had that "epic" feel about it.
The story flowed well and it was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. Rachel was yet again successful in seamlessly weaving together such an intricate story with so much action and ties weaved throughout.
Overall, a really enjoyable story with great characters and a wicked story. I can't wait for the next one in this series.
Cassius has been given a test, 30 days to get Stephanie to fall in love with him, easy right? No the catch is he has to be human for this to happen.
Untouchable Darkness is in dual POV that goes from past to present which i really loved,
We find out why Cassius has done the things in the past and understand why, we also get to see Stephanie on a path to self discovery which was good to see unfold.
I have never laughed and cried so much reading a book but this book gives you the ultimate feels, we have twists, turns and edge if your seat moments that will keep you glued to your kindle.
Rachel Van Dyken has a real talent for writing a really good para and pays attention to her storyline and character development, now i cant wait to read the third installment.
I fell in love with Rachel's characters in The Dark Ones (Book 1 in the series) and I have been waiting patiently for this book and it did not disappoint!
This is Cassius' and Stephanie's story, their all consuming passion they have for each other and this all powerful love.
In book 1, I wanted to know more about Cassius, about his past, why he was the way he was. While I loved Ethan and Genesis' story, I think Cassius and Stephanie's story was so much better. There's more to their story, more history, more feelings, just more to them as characters.
You get pulled back into the story by Rachel's writing, it's like you never left their world. I love all of the characters, not just the main ones we have in each book.
The story had many twists and turns you just can't see coming. The book had me on a roller coaster of emotions but it was so worth it.
Now I'm sitting here patiently waiting for Book 3!
I Can't wait for Alex book and to see how the rest of the characters stories unfold. I have became attached to this immortal family and long may it continue.
I love this author and I don't think there's a genre she can't write, she's always spot on!!
