"Fascinating - a compelling read." Piers Anthony, NYT Bestselling author of the Xanth series and Incarnations of Immortality.
"The Unusual Second Life of Thomas Weaver is a gripping story of the ultimate "What if?"...the classic time-traveling tropes are present, but they seamlessly weave between highly developed characters and an emotionally gripping story line that makes readers forget that they are reading fiction.
A book like this one is widely appealing, both to those looking for a bit of a sci-fi adventure, a good thriller, or readers who prefer philosophical quandries hidden in their literature.
The Unusual Second Life of Thomas Weaver is a standout story that begs important questions--and provides the author's personal answers--alongside a uniquely fascinating plot that does not disappoint.
Henry Baum, Self-Publishing Review
"Plenty of fictional stories of afterlives are on the market; but the real question to living a second life is: what would you do differently? What outcomes would you change? What would be the consequences of living one's life over and over, with a foreknowledge of events and the opportunity to make different decisions? All this forms the nexus of The Unusual Second Life of Thomas Weaver
, a tale that begins with an American teen's ordinary life and moves into a story of tragedy and a serial killer in the making. Can these events be undone if a life is relived with prior knowledge of what will happen? Watchers, angels, middle-aged men re-living life in a teen's body, and second changes all permeate a story that is heartfelt, well-written, and which approaches reincarnation experiences in a different manner than most novels. Thomas, fully aware of his nature, faces dilemmas that revolve around embracing changes. His story is a universal tale of trying to forge a better life (or lives) against all obstacles. It's one which is hard to put down, and is highly recommended not just for young adults, but for adult audiences who will find many of Thomas's experiences thought-provoking and intriguing."D. The Unusual Second Life of Thomas Weaver
revisits my favorite themes - redemption, second chances - but adds a new twist: time travel. We've all asked ourselves "What would I do if I could do it all again?" This book is my effort at answering that question.
I've been fascinated with time travel - its inconsistencies, its improbabilities, its possibilities - since I first read HG Wells' The Time Machine as a young boy. I knew I would eventually write a time travel novel, I just didn't know it would have a serial killer in it. That spices things up a bit though, doesn't it?
I wanted Thomas to initially be focused on his own dilemmas, but eventually be forced to put his own needs aside and focus on something that served the greater good. A potential serial killer named Michael Hollister filled that bill nicely.
So, what would you do, if you could do it all again?
