Awesome book. Have had it for years now and still refer back to it. She doesn't make you feel guilty if you don't agree with every thing. We don't homeschool, however, we are vaccine-free.
This book, for me, puts an end to feeling bullied into being called an "anti-vaxxer" and encourages me to refer to myself as "pro-information" instead of "pro-vaccines".

About the Author
Julie Cook is a part-time writer focusing mainly on homeschooling and unschooling. Her most important job, however, is being a mom to her daughter, Genevieve. Unvaccinated, Homeschooled and TV-Free: It's Not Just for Fanatics and Zealots is the culmination of five years of research. The original intent of the research was to provide Genevieve with information to help her understand why she is being raised differently than most children she will encounter. Julie is currently working on a second edition of this book, along with a children's book series.

the book was in great shape. very nice seller - left a note in the book thanking me!. great service. sticky packaging on the back of the book, though
the book focuses more on homeschooling for younger children. It's a quick read- only took me about an hour and half to get through the whole book. Very insightful ideas and a good read though. Great starter book for beginning to study homeschooling, vaccines, the affect of TV, etc.

I enjoyed this book. It is a great book to get you thinking about some basic decisions that most people just go with the flow with, without questioning alternatives. She explains in a non emotional evidence based way why she chose to raise her child this way. I think whomever gets this book should read it with an open mind. Don't feel bad or beat yourself about decisions you have already made but consider new options.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author does a fantastic job of explaining herself and using only facts and data to back up her conclusions. I love how she wrapped everything up at the end and tried to encourage her readers to research for themselves and to feel confident in their unconventional decisions. While I didn’t agree with *everything* in her homeschool section, I agreed with pretty much all of the principles she was getting across. Just maybe not all of the methods of execution. And that’s ok. Ultimately I would recommend this book.

Rarely does a young parent have the courage to question mainstream culture and parenting. Julie Cook did just that. Questioning led to insight, wisdom, and a better path for herself and her daughter. I am confident my adult children will enjoy exploring the same path as they read this remarkable book. – Brett Wilcox
