I don't know where all the high reviews came from but, I have to agree with the couple of mediocre reviews here. The writing is elementary and the story is not gripping. Maybe if it were one over the other I could've been persuaded to get past the 25% spot. There are problems with the storyline. The main one I encountered in what little I did read was Lucas walking Jade back to her office but the next chapter begins with him taking her to lunch before he walks her back. Rather disappointed I spent .99 on this and I have no desire to finish reading it.

Even though I felt like this started off slow, it didn't take long for the story to pick up. I liked the chemistry between Jade and Lucas, in spite of the awkward and uncomfortable tension that occurred during their first meeting. It's that same chemistry that causes both of them to break their self-imposed rules when it comes to dating. They're attracted to each other from the start, but once Lucas finds out Jade's angle and how it ties into her new job, he tries to do his best to forget all about her. But easier said than done, right?

Luckily one of the subplots is tied up fairly quickly, the only thing left is the relationship between Jade and Lucas that comes to an abrupt and sudden halt after Jade overhears a comment at a party. Of course she doesn't tell Lucas, and that in turn sets up a series of misunderstandings and hurt feelings for both of them. The resolution doesn't happen until close to the end of the book, but it does wrap up very nicely, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I have a feeling that one's going to be a roller coaster of a ride.

This book was ok. It was well written with likable characters. It just had a little too much back and forth between the characters for me. Lucas is tricked into meeting his biological fathers PA, Jade. He has an instant attraction to her, but wants nothing to do with her boss. He eventually decides to go out with her and continues going out with her even though up until then he had slept with women all over the world. Jade is the innocent PA, she doesn't know the specifics between her boss and Lucas. She has only had two serious relationships and they both ended badly. Lucas thinks Jade is trying to manipulate him for his father and tells her he doesn't do serious. She doesn't believe him, but then hears about his reputation at a party she attends. They go back and forth trying to explain to the other about things that have been said. It was a good romance, but as I said in the beginning, too much back and forth between the leads.

Jade started working at a very high-profile company as a PA to the boss Thomas.

Thomas sent Jade on her first task to meet with Lucas Renner and deliver him a letter and make sure Lucas read the letter. She also had to give her boss Lucas’s reply to the letter that he had read.

They meet at a coffee shop with Lucas being very late. He didn’t want to read the letter. He wanted nothing to do with Thomas.

Why?

Because Thomas had broken him and he hated him, he wanted to stay away from the man that he totally disliked. But Lucas had never met this man in person before, so why did he have this opinion towards him?

Lucas’s mum owned a florist just down the road from Jades work where Jade would stop by every fortnight to get her brother and his wife some flowers to help cheer them up after her baby nephew was very ill with a heart problem. Lucas bumps into Jade.

Their world’s collide again.

Will there sparks continue to fly?

We found this book to be pretty good, a sweet romantic read!!

A definite 4 star read.

This book was an ok book to me I guess it was a quick insta-love book and it was sort of a little too much of unicorns and rainbows with just a chance of rain going on. Overall this book was sort of juvenile with Jade becoming upset with Lucas having the title of Mr. FK where as she should have been more upset with what him being in China implied versus a stupid title that someone has. This book really isn't about Lucas gaining a relationship with his father it's more so about he and Jade's "love". I mean of course everything turned out just fine with a red ribbon on top but I didn't really like it that much. The "down" part of the book didn't last long and it was again juvenile especially with the hit and misses and improper communication that could of solved their simple stupid issue. In my opinion since the book is only $0.99 it's worth it but if he goes higher than this price save your money.

The story was pretty much predictable, sad to say. The main thread of the book that gets repeated quite a few times is, someone gets mad and then they REFUSE to talk to each other. So many misunderstandings, although the one between Lucas and his father was caused on purpose. It was pretty easy for me to guess the who and some of the reasons as the story went on. The book information on Amazon says that "It contains hot sexual scenes". It did, but my original thoughts and rating stays the same.
