Up for Grabs
I loved the fun, witty, playful relationship with Flannery and her best bud, Adam. I loved the way her relationship with Cain grew from a flirty friendship to something strong and withstanding. It was hard to swallow her keeping the auction information from Cain. How could she not think he wouldn’t have a HUGE problem with it!! I’m glad their HEA took a lot of time and wasn’t something that was brushed under the rug and forgotten about quickly. That kind of pain and betrayal would be hard to get over.
Up in the Air
I loved having Cain’s POV of everything in Up for Grabs. My heart broke for him. His pain, anger, betrayal, hurt. It all came through the pages. I still hold true that Cain is one of a kind and I fell in love with him even more.
Up for Forever
I really loved Kendra and Adam’s story. I couldn’t put this down! This was an emotional rollercoaster, wow. Kendra has huge commitment issues and even though she has been with Adam for over two years, in her eyes, they are friends with benefits. Adam has had enough and wants more. He loves her, he wants a forever with her. They are now out of college and it only makes sense to take the next step. When Kendra freaks, Adam is done, done with it all. It was heart-breaking to see Kendra finally look inside herself and understand what she had, what she felt, and ultimately, what she may have lost. Of course, you know they will get an HEA, but the journey they faced to get to that point was emotional and touching, and most importantly, it didn’t seem rushed. I loved the way Adam wouldn’t rush it, he knew he had to protect his heart.
Up for Everything by Heather Young-Nichols
I loved Sam in the first two books in this series and am so happy to have his story! How funny and typical of him to end up crashing his best friends’ honeymoon, hahaha. This group of people is, and will always be, family to each other. I love how they are always there for each other. Even if it’s a little overboard, ahem… Kendra and her attitude when she first barges in on Sam and Miriam. Then again, I loved how Miriam didn’t roll over and play dead – she gave back and is herself a bit spunky and snarky.
This is a great romance full of emotion. You will be laughing out loud, feeling the swoon-worthy and sexy moments, crying while your heart is hurting, and falling in love with every single person in the book. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down.
Smart, funny, sweet. These are the best words I can think of to describe this story. Flannery is so witty and sassy, even if she does have a bit of a problem with physical aggression. And Cain is a complete and total sweetheart. The way he tries to look after her is swoon-worthy. Their inner circle of friends have such big personalities, they sometimes try to take over the book. A lot of detail and attention go into building their "world" and showing the relationships between Flannery and Cain and all their friends. I really appreciate that it takes time for these two to fall in love. It makes the fall-out from Flannery's financial solution feel very realistic because they'd both invested a lot of time in each other. However, having read the blurb about the book I found I wanted to get to the part the blurb describes faster than the book gets there. Having started at the wrong end of this series, and already read Sam's book, I can't wait to read about Kendra and Adam.
Up in the Air
I really loved having the chance to see everything from Cain's perspective. It didn't significantly change my opinion of Flannery, but it made Cain a lot more relatable for me. In the first book, he comes across as almost too perfect since we don't get to see how much he's struggling with the situation. This companion novella corrects the balance and lets us in on just how much Cain is hurt by Flannery's actions and shows us some of his less than perfect reactions to what's happened.
Up For Forever
All the sassy banter and all the angst-y emotions that filled the first book are back for a repeat performance in the second book. It also has all the friends-are-the-family-we-choose vibe that made the original so lovable. The first book I read in the series was the third one, so I already knew what the outcome would be and I had and idea of what hurdles Kendra and Adam would have to overcome. Adam, I pretty much loved from the first time Flannery hits him in the first book. It's taken a little more effort to wrap my heart around Kendra. She's so strong that it's sometimes hard to empathize with her. It was good to learn what she grew up with so that we could see how she became someone who needed to cut a man loose just because he wanted to be with her forever. Ordinarily I'd say I can't wait to read the next book, but since I already have I suppose I can admit that I think it might be my favorite. It ties everything, and everybody, back together.
Up for Everything
Buckle your seat-belts ladies and gentlemen, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Up for Everything is an emotional roller-coaster that will have you hooked from the very first word. From the most blissful of highs to the most devastating lows and everything in between, Sam and Miriam tackle it all with a touch of humor and the unstinting love and support of their family and friends to keep it from getting too heavy along the way. This is the first book in the Up For Grabs series that I've read and after getting to know Sam's "family" I will definitely be going back to read the two books that precede this one.
