Solid frame, fairly minimal padding (some brands offer more padding, but also offer to take more of your money). If you're looking to save some cash, and want something that is comfortable and quality, this chair is doing fine by me.
The arm rests are static in place, non adjustable. This may, or may not bother you. It's comfortable and serves me well. If anything changes I'll follow up about it!
Would I recommend this chair to someone else? I would not.
First, the negatives.
1.) It's not very comfortable. It's not comfortable, at all. It's a step up from "sitting on the floor".
2.) Not sure why I'd want to recline to a 180 degree position in this uncomfortable mess - but, it will do that, if you like.
3.) The arm rests are very shaky and flimsy. I'm 160 lbs, and found the left arm coming up from the chair began to bend... and I'd easily bend it back. As a result, the metal arm attachment is about to stress and pull apart. But that may be a good thing, because of part 1 - because the chair is just so uncomfortable that the arm rests seem to get in the way of anything remotely relaxing.
4.) Everything about this chair is noisy. It creaks at the slightest movement.
5.) The lumbar and pillow attachments seem to be an afterthought, with no real value.
1.) It seems very sturdily constructed - outside of the arm rest gripe. The leather holds up well, and the bottom base of the chair feels as though they'd both last for a few years.
I’ve given it 3 stars because of a number of issues though. The seat part is hard, with almost no cushioning, which gets uncomfortable. I spend quite a bit of my day sitting in it, so I’ve had to purchase a seat cushion. Also, the pleathery smell is really potent, it fills up the whole room - and not in a good way, makes the room smell a bit off. It’s only been 3 days since it arrived so I’m hoping the smell will fade with time and use. Not the most sturdy chair either. The arm rests jiggle quite a bit. Wheels are relatively stiff and don’t move easily across carpet.
I’ve seen a number of reviews that say you get what you pay for, but at my home in London, I have a desk chair that cost me twenty dollars more and is unbelievably comfortable, with in built massage and heat settings. So, I expected a little bit more from this chair, but it’s not terrible. It’ll work for a while.
UPDATE****10/17/17- Removed the gas shock that came with the chair and swapped with the chair's that this chair replaced! Tag still on the bottom of the old chair says manufactured in 2012 and the gas shock still feels like new!
Now that I have the new shock installed, the arm rests are obviously not level with one another and the left one sits lower than the right, just enough to bother you while you sit immensely.
Needless to say, but I will anyway, I shouldn't have to replace parts on a 1 month old chair. Garbage. I should have bought a Corsair T1 race chair for 300+ and saved myself the headache and buyers remorse.
UPDATE****10/19/17 - The seller contacted me personally very promptly and resolved my issue with their product within hours! Haven't seen this level of customer service/support in any other product I have purchased. +2 stars just for customer service. WOW!
