I really loved this book. Kade was haunted by loss in his life. He didn't want to let Piper too close and have her find out about events that he was ashamed of. He certainly doesn't want to let on what he does for a living now. He was very protective of her and tried to keep things exciting while they were on the run.
Piper loves her job. She's a workaholic who can't even take a vacation without making it a working vacation. She was sweet and strong. She handled herself pretty well with the robbers also. She finds herself falling for Kade but she doesn't want anything to get in the way of her career.
Upon The Tide was well written and fast paced. It was full of danger, action, mystery and love. I enjoyed reading this and following Kade and Piper through there dangerous adventure. This was an awesome quick read for a quiet night in. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This book does not have any graphic sex scenes or graphic violence, but it has plenty of action, plenty of beautiful ports of call, that the author does a fantastic job of describing to pull you into the story. Anyone who watches any amount of the crime shows on TV will predict some of the outcomes, but it was a clean read that was a nice afternoon break for me.
