About the Author

Lee Cokorinos is the founder and principal of Democracy Strategies LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic research and advice to public policy organizations. He has worked with good government, labor, civil rights, food safety, legal, feminist, economic justice, environmental, public health, progressive religious, philanthropic and other organizations. His work has been cited in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, The Guardian, USA Today, The Nation, Black Issues in Higher Education, and other publications. He is the author, with Ellen Dannin, of "Infrastructure Privatization in the New Millennium," in The Oxford Handbook of State and Local Government Finance He has also conducted strategic research for campaigns on privatization and the role of government, and has authored studies of the legislative advocacy and public policy campaigns of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Restaurant Association, Federalist Society, National Association of Manufacturers, National Right to Life Committee, National Right to Work Committee, Independent Women's Forum, and other organizations and corporations.
