Editorial Reviews

Marc Porter Zasada's crisp and confident prose explores a mythic Los Angeles, embracing the city's image without falling prey to it. The Urban Man casually intersperses deep insights with humor and humility, capturing the complexity of the author and his city. --.--Gregory Rodriguez, Los Angeles Times columnist and Senior Fellow, New America Foundation

For Marc Porter Zasada, living in Los Angeles is...like being in the audience at a play. You re not there to shout at the players to change course so they don t fall deeper into the abyss the playwright has crafted for them. You ve paid good money for those seats. So you put your cell on vibrate, laugh at the right moments and beat the crowd to the exit when its over. --Orli Low, Los Angeles Times Book Review
