The pewter pieces are are too small. That ends the negative portion of this review. I'm glad to see this wasn't just a reprint of the original game like so many other monopoly games. They actually incorporated some new rules. They do add another dimension of play without taking away from the things that make monopoly popular. It will be worth the money if you are in to transformers.

This is original, G1 Transfomers. Monopoly is always a classic game to get and it is almost worth the price just for the little metal pieces alone.

I love this, it was my favorite version of monopoly for quite a long time, but has been surpassed by The Simpson version I think.

There are some different optional rules that you can play for a little twist involving the sides, Autobots vs. Decepticons.

If you ever had the original toys, do you remember the red card thing that came with them so that you could see their stats on the packaging? That is in this to read the Chance and CC cards. That is a fun idea and if you are a Transformers fan, you have to check this out.

I ordered Transformers Monopoly from Amazon, and I couldn't be happier with this custom version of the game. The game pieces are greatly detailed, with all of the main Generation 1 Transformers characters present, and the board features all of the different locations from the Transformers universe, with Earth and Cybertron being the two most valuable. About the only complaint I have is that the "Energon Cubes" that the houses represent are just different-colored versions of the standard Monopoly houses and hotels. It detracts a little from this otherwise stellar Transformers theme.

If you aren't familiar with the USAopoly line of products, most of them are variations of the Monopoly game, only re-branded with the characteristics of a city, college, TV show or movie. To be honest, I've tended to stray away from anything except the original game because I'm the kind of person that gets completely thrown off by the name changes, not to mention any extra pictures on the board. USAopoly decided to stick with the G1 Transformers characters and designs and considering the hype and spectacle being thrown about over the new movie I thought that was interesting and for the first time (I believe) they've included alternate rules which I was insanely curious about.

My first impression when I saw the box art was instant joy that the designers at USAopoly chose to utilize the artwork from the 2002-4-ish Dreamwave revamp of the Transformers comic. Pat Lee and the artists in his studio at the time were doing some really great stuff with the original G1 characters and I remember being really jazzed by the super-realistic yet faithful anime influenced designs. From the back of the box we can get a first glimpse of what the rest of the game looks like, as well as noticing the old school grid design which is nicely melded into the background, unlike how plain and lazy it looked on the commemorative Toys 'r' Us Transformers re-issues.

As far as the tokens go, it's a pretty standard mix of characters, Optimus and Megatron, which are pretty much required, Soundwave and Starscream rounding out the Decepticons, and Bumblebee and Jazz rounding out the Autobots.

This product was bought partially as a collector's item, partially as a conversation piece, and partially as a playable board game. Everything is here from the mini game piece figurines, to the transformers-themed play cards, and energon money. It even includes a red translucent plastic piece to read tech specs! My only complaint is that it seemed to be a lot of NON-G1 transformers (i.e.: Armada, etc ...). I would have liked to see a miniture (2"sq) metroplex figure and a mini trypticon figure included. That would have been perfect. Overall a good buy for transformers lovers.
