You can stump your PHD friend with most of this (nobody knows most of this stuff!), and even if you only have ten minutes to read, you cannot open to a page that won't keep you reading and smiling!
Did you know that all nuts are fruits? However almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, and pistachios are actually fruit seeds, not nuts. And Peanuts are legumes, not nuts. So there you go, you just won that $20 bet that there are no nuts in the bowl.
This is a fun compendium of interesting facts for people of all ages. I think kids will especially love it.
It's been the perfect book for some of my younger clients, to help stir a love of learning and a love of science, which makes my job as a tutor much more enjoyable.
