At first I thought I was going nuts, not being able to hold a thin washer/shim, because the shim kept falling out from the pliers! Only when I tried looking more closely for some obstruction somewhere, that I held it edge-on to a bright light, and saw the constant tip-to-pivot gap. They just wouldn't close!
Anyway, unless you're dealing with really small/thin parts, this might not be a dealbreaker, but for me...
Still, for the bux, I'm not crying myself to sleep or anything. They're perfectly fine for bigger parts.
Tried for a pic to show the gap, no joy. Just take my word for it, I guess.
These are not even close to being as precise looking as the image presents, either. The pair I have appear like an inexpensive copy of the one shown. the tips do close tightly, but at an odd angle.
I paid $2.95/free ship and even paying that is on the high side for this pair of needle nose pliers that no Jeweler would ever consider using. For a generic set for occasional art and craft sort of use and related uses, it should be okay.
As far as any reference to the word "Jeweler" goes in association with the plier that I received could only be considered a misleading and fraudulent claim as to it's uses for such precision work is practically impossible. Also, the image used makes this pair look like it may be chromed, but it is simply (roughly) polished metal.
