Product Description

“It controls just so perfectly..”, IGN.

Chopper Mike is a challenging, fast-paced, arcade helicopter time trial game featuring super smooth graphics and amazing controls.

Fly through 3 difficulty modes and 48 levels, picking up gems, avoiding collisions, and landing as quickly as you can! Skillful play will be rewarded with mysterious bonus aircraft!

Complete the levels, beat the target times, then replay to beat your best times!

Note 1: Chopper Mike is designed to run at 60 frames per second, and features complicated graphics shaders. As such it requires a moderately powerful device to run at its best. Chopper Mike runs well on a Samsung Galaxy S2, Google-Asus Nexus 7, and ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T.

Note 2: For best presentation, Chopper Mike requires a minimum screen height of around 448 pixels, (when in landscape orientation).

looked like a decent enough game. collect the gems without colliding and then land. easy enough except that he controls can get a bit touchy at times. i wish there was some way to regulate the height in which you fly. right side of the screen is to lift off while the left is to navigate. as long as you have the right touched it will just continue going higher and higher with no way to steady the chopper which causes more collisions than anything else. there are three different modes (easy, normal and hard) and each has 16 levels. will continue working on it. perhaps I'll learn the trick to it.

This game is quite simple, yet it is very hard to master.
Goal-
The Goal of the game is to get the gems and land on the helipad in the least amount of time possible. There are six helicopters to choose from, and three to unlock.
Pros-
-Easy To Figure out, the instructions are simple, and if you don't like to read instructions ( How To ) you can easily figure out the game by fooling around with it.
-Good Graphics, they are pretty simple yet still nice.
-In app Purchases, There are none, as I've seen of. If I recall so, the three helicopters are unlocked through game play.
Cons-
-Controls, You use one finger on one side of the screen to navigate and another on the other side to fly upwards. I'm not a fan of this, but is no reason to give a bad review.
-No customization, another reason not to give a bad review, but I'd like to see a customization feature in the future.
So simple, yet it isn't. It is not an easy feature to master, as you have to focus on not flying too high, while still navigating, not going out of bounds and then having to stay off the ground as well.
-Entertaining, my nephews and nieces did not like this game. They knew how to play it, but it was too boring. Should have a few more details to catch the kids' Eyes.

Not bad, much room for improvement.

RC Hobbiests, especially in the USA may be a little disoriented with the "Mode 1" like controls where the throttle is controlled by the right hand thumb, while the "rudder", "elevators" are sort of mixed with the "ailerons" left hand thumb... It's a simplification of the controls that is necessary for accessibility, but a nice option would be to allow a flip of the controls.

Otherwise, it's a fun little platformer with a rotary wing aircraft player. Another great option would be for USB or Bluetooth controller support.

Amazon won't let me rate an app without leaving a few words (at least 20, to be exact), so here goes:

Most of the other reviewers hit all the important items like: simple to play, yet difficult to master; good graphics; needs a bit more variation; etc. I agree.

I do want to say that the game is very cute, it has a certain charm that cannot be quantified or reproduced (on purpose, at any rate). Controling chooper's height is hard to learn, but then again, this is not a flight simulator, it's a game.

If the app was not the FAotD, I would never have bought it on my own, but it's worth trying and may even be worth paying for; I'll have to play a little more to decide.

if you have a larger device like a 7 inch or 10 inch tablet or a larger phone or galaxy note then this game is FUN! Yes it takes a few minutes to learn the controls but they really ARE "controls" in that you really can control the copter and it does feel like you're flying it. The game play is also very smooth and fluid and overall, this game is just plain fun. I don't know what else to say other than that I highly recommend this because I am seriously enjoying it! As a FAOTD this is a no-brainer.

And finally, the lack of permissions seals the deal for me! I do not have to worry about this app stealing my personal information and that level of comfort just helps me enjoy the game even more!

This APP is how they should be. It's engaging and mindless. It's very easy to play and there are no constant popups asking you if you want to buy gems or buy a map to find Elvis.
The controls are a little tricky because your finger hides the panel as you try to navigate and some things aren't available like flight altitude and such. All in all, I played for 30 minutes, could see myself collecting enough gems to unlock a new ride. It's not hard, but it's not simple enough to finish it in an hour. It's not at all buggy in any part of the game, there is no delay or lag with the graphics. Good job!

In this game you fly a little helicopter around and try to hit gems in the air without hitting obstacles. Once you have the gems you land on a landing pad. The better you perform, the more "gold stars" you are awarded on each screen.

To gain altitude you tap the right side of the screen. As long as your finger is down, you continue to gain altitude, and drop when your finger is off. Therefore you pretty much have to spend your time bobbing around. The game really needs a steady power control to maintain steady flight at one altitude. I know this isn't a flight simulator, but this control philosophy I believe makes the game one that is going to have a short attention span.

The joystick control which regulates direction isn't very stable either. I found the helicopter to change directions at times when I did not change my touch on the joystick. And this was on the "easy mode".

The controls definitely need to be better thought out and implemented, and the "easy" or "training" mode needs to be more of a slam dunk for the beginning player to get a clean taste for how flight in this game works.

I'm sure with more practice I'd get better at the controls, but I just have no interest in struggling with what's there to do so. I have dozens of other apps that I enjoy more, so this one just doesn't make the cut. I already removed it from my device.

I played this game with a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and had no technical issues with the game.

Give it a try as the FAotD. The controls may have more of a natural flow for you than they did for me.
