5.0 out of 5 starsI'm a very poor photographer that only buys quality, and this is exactly that.

Sturdy, very well built, foam grips are very aesthetically appealing and comfortable, it's very solid, and the features it has to offer are amazing for this price. I even used it as a monopod one time! the stability of this thing is mind boggling for such a low price...i was looking for a lightweight tripod so i can take it with me around the world, and was considering the manfrotto travel one which is like 60 bucks, but i settled on this one cause of it's vast features and it turned out to be lighter than i had expected! the bag it comes with is made with a really thick canvas, so i have no worries of it wearing out anytime soon.
Another word tip when you're looking at the Vangaurd Alta 263, pay attention to the suffix they have...the AB stands for the ball head, the AP stands for the pan head and so on....it took me a while to figure out what the differences are...i was leaning towards the AP one more...but realized that was more for movie makers and so i went with the ball head which by the way is solid as heck! the 264 has 4 piece legs instead of this one which has 3...which is also more sturdy apparently
all in all, i would definitely recommend this to a friend, and would buy more if I wasn't so broke and had more than one camera :P haha i was surprised it came with an extra quick release foot so if you have two cameras you can swap them out easily! i love the fact that it can be turned upside down for macro shots, i haven't used that feature yet, but i can't wait to! buy it!
