If you need a tripod for your DSLR, video, or point and shoot camera, this one may be hard to beat. I originally bought it for hiking with my wife; I needed something that was compact, lightweight, and durable that wouldn't empty my wallet. The VANGUARD Espod is exactly what I wanted!
PROS:
- Lightweight & compact:
- Well built & durable: After 1 year of frequent use, it still looks and feels great - it may last me 10+ years!
- 2 easy to see levels: One level is for tripod's legs & the other is for the camera.
- Good height adjustments: The tripod's height is 23" - 49" with the legs separated & without camera attached. I'm 5' 11" and it's been fine for me.
- Easy to use: All of the knobs & handles stay tight, keeping your camera safe and stable, and are easy to see and use - even when a camera is attached.
- Stable: I have the Nikon D5300 & have NEVER felt like my camera was unstable or that the tripod might fall over, which is surprising considering how thin & light the tripod is.
CONS:
- Paint scratches fairly easy: I go hiking with the tripod once or twice a month, and after a few trips to the mountains I noticed a few small scratches on the legs, but the scratches were not noticeable enough to be a concern as they were merely cosmetic, superficial blemishes.

This is a fantasic value , I love my tripod!
The leg locks are simple and smooth to extend. I used this for a outdoor photo shoot and it was a breeze to get into position fast and easily. My camera locks in with ease, I had no concerns that my equipment was unsteady or unstable at all. This is a great value really well made. I included some photos of my Vanguard tripod.

I have had such a bad run on tripods that I am just thrilled to finally get this one. Just to clarify, I am not a professional photographer or videographer, but I do want my pictures and videos to turn out right. This tripod checked all the boxes for me. First of all, I didn't have to break the bank to buy it. The operation of the head is SUPER smooth. The adjustment controls are all super easy and fingertip sensitive. The pan and tilt yield smooth videos and precise photos. The whole unit is extremely lightweight. At the fully extended height, it is extremely stable. The orange bumper pad protect the head from shock. The leg extension locks are easy to unclip but hold firmly. I really can't say enough good things about this tripod! For the amateur photographer it is some good solid value. Thumbs up to Vanguard for getting it right!Brian WAwesome value in this tripod.
