We live in central Florida and just put in a solar pool heating system. To minimize temperature loss during the cooler months we use a thermal blanket.
This reel makes rolling the blanket up very neat and easy.
My pool is 14' wide and I ordered the 18' model. With the tubes as close together as possible it fits perfectly across the pool, and is super strong. My pool is 26' long and this reel has no problem rolling it up with no sag at all.
We are 70 and have no problem assembling the reel and attaching the blanket.
I read the reviews and saw there might be an issue with the white blanket clips popping open so I used #4 stainless steel machine screws and nuts (one per clip) to keep them closed. I also used #4 stainless screws inside the track for the velcro strap to keep them from slipping. See images.
Those small additions will ensure I won't be messing around with them when the weather gets chilly.

Warm Tips:
1.The package comes with two package.
2.Use screws to fix the pole, some screws no need pass thru the holes.
3.Use sandbag to secure the legs on each side, when rolling the cover up, to prevent it from trying to flip over.
4.The reel is very sturdy. Time will tell how well it last, but it definitely makes removing and covering the pool back a piece of cake.
