Use a multi meter to find a fuse that is switched with the ignition and one that is always on, even when the car is completely off. (Also make sure the fuses used are not vital, that way if something does go wrong it won't pose a safety risk). Hook up the wires and you are good to go.
Taps are not included, but are easy to find on amazon or in a car parts store. I set the battery voltage switch to the highest setting and this allows for the camera to record for at least a day in just parking mode before switching off to preserve the battery life. I have never had my car battery drain because of this for the last 6 months that I have been using it. Great product that allows full potential of a VIOFO dash cam.
I know a lot of fuse also buy 'fuse taps' I did too. Yet in the end I just took the bar wire and stuck it in a fuse.
I found a fuse that was on all the time and another that switched on when the key/accessory was on. Just got some bare wire, pulled the fuse with a needle nose pliers and crammed the wire back in with one side of the fuse. I put the wire in downline so the fuse would pop in the event of a short.
Anyway - other than that ran the wire up the side, easy to tuck inside the trim and pop out by the rear view mirror.
No instructions but I figured it out.

Too bad the seller didn't mention this anywhere on the page or even include a website to direct users to read about the install. Not recommended as there are many other kits out there that are compatible, include all components and provide installation guidelines.
Quite disappointed with this one!
Luckily searching online helped my find what I needed and half an hour later had this installed in my Genesis.
If you are looking for a thin cable this is not the one for you as this is one thick cable. For my case it wasn't the end of the world and found good places to hide it, I don't imagine everyone being so lucky
For the viofo this is a must have
Thanks Amazon for your recommendation to buy the parts as a kit only to waste 2 hours of my time, a hardwire kit and other parts......you suck!
BTW- the hardwire kit and camera do not come with instructions and the hardwire kit doesn't come with all the parts.
I first installed the plug wire into the GPS module which is higher than the camera module plug so ended up having to pull the wire back to make it long enough to plug into the camera at the side. Just a frustration when everything looked so neat and had to be modified.
