Update: looks like the pictures for this item have been updated to show the correct item, the curved jaw locking pliers. I've included my original review below.As another reviewer mentioned, these pliers aren't exactly as pictured. The first picture for this item shows a STRAIGHT jaw pair of locking pliers. This pair of pliers, however, has a CURVED jaw, as pictured in all the other pictures. The curved jaw is very helpful in gripping rounded objects, the straight jaw in gripping flat surfaces or smaller fasteners.I purchased this pair of pliers as a last-ditch effort after completely rounding off the head of my oil pan drain plug with a 12 point socket. The bite on these is incredible. With very little effort, these bit down onto the flange of the bolt (because the head was too small), and ripped it right out. Woo!That being said, with the curved jaws of these pliers, you can't grip small fasteners well. This certainly couldn't grip the 10mm head of my oil pan drain plug. I'd estimate that it won't grip anything much smaller than 15mm. Keep that in mind. I wanted the larger size for the leverage, but I was lucky my bolt had a much larger flange I could grip. On the larger end of things, the stated maximum jaw capacity is 1 7/8".Otherwise, the construction is great. The handles are nice, and the fact that it opens easily with one hand without sacrificing bite force is great. And you can't go wrong, since it carries a lifetime warranty.

These tools do just that. I use the tools on car parts, computers, air conditioners, basketball goals, anything that needs tools to take apart. I'm a scrapper and the use for tools will be used more vigorously than a mechanic would use them. So far so good. Will update if necessary.
