 UPDATE: I found a new use for this and I'm so excited I had to take a quick video. This tool is perfect for cleaning up stringing and small hairs on 3D prints! I just happened to be using the station today to replace a MOSFET and I tried blowing 250°C air onto a recent print. Small strings disappear instantly, and larger ones are easily taken care of with a bit of manual persuasion. This method also works fairly well to clean up messy overhangs.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm pretty happy with this station. I was well aware before I even ordered it that something at this price point isn't going to last forever, but I have used it for three different projects so far, and I'm perfectly happy with its performance. It's even got some unexpected features like accelerometer-activated cooldown, which is great when your hands are full.

I needed an inexpensive hot air station until I'm ready to spring for a Quick. I liked that this one had 3 preset buttons, and it heats up quickly. Unlike some of the cheaper models, it seems well assembled and the case is grounded. The reed switch in the handle puts it to sleep and cools it down as long as you set it correctly in the holder. Pick it up and it heats up quickly.

My only real complaint so far is that the nozzles are not friction fit, they're clamped down with a screw and nut arrangement, so not easily quick changeable. But again, for the price paid, I can't really complain.

Used this to fixed some defective chips on my father in laws tv receiver, saved him over $400 on a new one. Be sure to buy some thermal tape to help protect other components next to the one you are working on to protect them from the heat
