What's the difference?
Contact Paper is made using low quality polymers that will not withstand UV rays, abrasions and chemicals. The adhesive is always solvent-based which is corrosive to coatings and surfaces. These films are almost always classified as “permanent” films since removal is a nightmare and will almost always ruin the surface it’s laid on.
Paint Replacement Film is made to last. It is originally made to withstand the harsh elements of driving as a “paint replacement film” for cars. It is a "cast" film, which means it won't shrink or curl back - always a risk with calendared or polymeric films. It also comes with a built-in air-release system to expel air bubbles for a perfectly smooth finish. VViViD decided to give you this same technology in a decorative marble film for your home. Enjoy a safe, easy to use decorative film on any surface for up to 10 years! If you don’t like it, simply remove it and apply something different!

User TIP! If you are folding it over edges use a hairdryer or heat gun on low to get it crease perfectly!
I have covered 4 Ikea shelves. The longer larger shelves need 1 roll each, there will be some excess. The small Ikea shelves used only 1 roll.. and I have PLENTY left over. So I "marbled" my mini trash can!
The Application was really easy, Pulling it back up and reapplying was easy even on a painted shelf. I used a heat gun on low to help get my corners nice and square. The pattern is really pretty and looks beautiful. I did have 3 small bubbles on one shelf but using a small needle I poked a hole and used the heat gun on low to seal it.
The countertop in the picture was completed with 2 1/2 rolls. We used a credit card to push out any air bubbles, scissors and utility knife for cutting. We also bought a paint edger that was long and straight and it helped if we had to cut a straight line while it was attached to the counter.
If you have a perfectly flat square surface then this product would be great.
I had a simple table to work with I cleaned it allowed it to dry and started applying. I wasted one roll because I tried applying it in a bigger area, the creases and bubbles kept happening, I used a ruler, a credit card a book, then I tried to reapply and then the bigger creases showed up.
I then started using the second roll applying small areas at a time to be more careful... nope didn't work it wasn't me it was the paper. I give up . I added close up pics because everyone else adds pictures from far... yeah you can't see the bubbles from far away. 20 + dlls in the trash.
