The VacMaster Bone Guard sheet is the ultimate in bag protection! Avoid puncturing holes in your vacuum bags by using Bone Guard to cut down on packaging punctures and leaks. The VacMaster Bone Guard is one of the most economical ways of reducing pouch failures like snags. Just place a sheet of Bone Guard over the bone or sharp edge you are vacuum packaging to prevent punctures and tears. The heavy-duty 6 mil thick material will protect your bags from the sharpest bones. Each sheet is 4.5" x 5" in size and clear for full product visibility. VACMASTER Bone Guard works with all suction and chamber bags and machines.

Pros: good, thick does what it is intended to do.
Cons: Should be cheaper, overpriced for what it is. You could just as easily used heavy duty aluminum foil crunched up over the sharp pointy areas of what ever you're sealing. You could also take a 3 mil bag and put it over the sharp points and slid it into another bag, which is what I will do in the future. I can see the bone guard possibly moving inside the bag and exposing the sharp bones, hasn't happened yet but I think it could.
