What about comfort? The foam grips are surprisingly comfortable and durable for this price range, reminding me of the type on a pull-up bar, and the angle is well suited to natural movement.
Weight is another issue. I can use my hexagonal hand weights for push-ups, but they are too heavy to move around quickly when I want to change positions, including the small adjustments when my body slips around. These plastic hand weights are perfect in that regard, weighing almost nothing.
Okay, what else is left? Something that I had not even considered prior to purchasing: stability. To be portable (and they very much are), each bar comes in three pieces, which snap together, allowing them to all lie flat for packing. This leaves little hinge points, which can rock a bit and feels awkward.
Absence of check.
The simple fact is that a push-up bar is extremely cheap to make and not complicated in design. With that said, I have decided to give these an average (3-star) rating, but I do not want to discourage you from purchasing this pair. While I would gladly give up the small amount of portability gained by breaking these bars into pieces for stability, your priorities may lie elsewhere, making this is an ideal compromise. Regardless, this is a solid product for a reasonable price and I do not regret buying it.

Update #1: April 10th, 2013
I have completed my first run through P90X and these did a fantastic job! They were easy to hide in a closet when I was not working out and performed great during the push-up sessions.
It has been about 3 months since i purchased this item and it still looks brand new. I was worried about the foam on the handle falling apart but it still look fantastic! I highly recommend this product!
Why did i buy this product?/What was i looking for?:
I wanted some push-up bars because the i am starting the P90X program and they recommended purchasing push-up bars. The ones on the beach body website were something like $30 which is way more than i wanted to spend.
Upon my first purchase, i opened up the box and the push up bars were OBVIOUSLY used before! I contacted amazon and they willingly sent me out a new set overnight for free which was AWESOME! Opening my second set, they were new so i was happy. I set them up by snapping the bars into the base. The first thing that i noticed is that the build quality did not seem like it was anything special. I was skeptical if they would actually hold my weight (190 lbs) but after a few months, they're still holding up and work fine.
rubber feet grip any floor surface
Overall these a a great purchase for only a couple bucks and work great for anyone who is doing P90X.
One issue that I found negative is that somehow they hurt my hands while pushing up. Despite having a foam cover on the handle parts, somehow the plastic bar manages to hurt my hand (usually my right hand). I cannot opt out the possiblity that something is wrong with my hand though (maybe it is week and sensitive. Well, the bars are sturdier than my hands, that is true!)
Overall, a good option considering the price.
WHAT'S GREAT - I just started a push up regimen, starting slow because I am definitely out of shape. My routine of 4 reps consisting only 20,15,10, and lastly 5 push ups (50 total) - burns. With these push up bars, OMG I thought I was dead after 20. The extra posture, correct positioning, extra depth you get intensify your simple push up easily 2 fold.
I wish I discovered this type of product long ago. Oh BTW I did own a pair of those Perfect Pushups, the ones that spin. No good, that spinning factoring is the worst thing for your push up. Keep it simple with these.

The quality control for the item needs work. The bends on the handle bars are not same causing the leg attachments to be at different lengths and height.Published 4 months ago by Ken
Worth the money. It is very comfortable to handle your weight. The base of the bars should have been rubber as plastic moves on the floor otherwise it is a good product.Published 4 months ago by Sampath
