Purchased it for my ICOM IC-756 PRO III to hook it up to my laptop. During the winter field day in Jan 2023, when we connected the radio and laptop, everything went perfectly. The computer detected the radio and vice a versa almost instantaneously. Since then, I have connected my radio to two different laptops using this cable without any issues. The instructions were pretty short and straightforward. The build quality is good.
There are some cheap versions of the cables out there, which may have worked. But decided to go for Valley because of good reviews and recommendations from Hammers on YouTube.

FTDI ADAPTER RESTORES ICOM IC-735 HAM RADIO
I'm using the Valley Enterprises FTDI USB/Serial adapter cable to tune frequencies on my ICOM IC-735 Amateur HF Radio. The FTDI driver download was simple and the cable adapter works fine on my IC-735 in conjunction with the Ham Radio Deluxe Software Package and my old XP/SP2 Laptop. The FTDI device is running on port 5 at 1200 baud with an CI-V address of 04.The IC-735 radio had become unusable due to the failure of an irreplaceable optical tuner which was used to set operating frequencies on the radio. The FTDI adapter is functioning as a "work-around" to that problem and has restored a really desirable radio back into full service.The only actual problem I had using the FTDI cable was due to the 3/8th inch CI-V serial interface jack on the 1980's era radio. The jack had a bit of corrosion on the "tip conductor" which which blocked communication between the Computer/FTDI combo and the Radio. This was cured by a shot of De-Ox spray on the radio jack.The cable works fine, was easy to implement and has restored my ICOM IC-735 HF Transceiver back to service.
