I replaced the OEM rubber ducky on my Uniden Bearcat 75 with this- worked wonderfully. A good number of local transmissions which I had previously not received started coming in clearly. On a few occasions, I have even picked up VHF public works traffic from southern Oregon (I’m in the Portland area), which is amazing. Getting this antenna for $12 was like getting a new, better scanner.

This is a gem of an antenna. I read the critical review for this antenna and almost didn't buy it. Then I realized that because it is fulfilled and shipped by Amazon there is absolutely no risk in buying it. Am I glad I did! I am using this antenna on my Radio Shack Pro-651 scanner. After receiving my first of this antenna today I have ordered 3 more for myself for my other scanners, a second Pro-651, a Pro-106 and an antique Pro-90.

For most of my listening the antenna in its fully collapsed configuration is perfect, the reception is outstanding for 480 to 508Mhz. In the collapsed configuration the antenna extends only 4 inches above the BNC connector, it is very compact and sturdy. It arrived perfectly straight, very tight at the swivel joint and extending and retracting the antenna felt solid and very well machined. The black finish is smooth and very well applied.

My neighbor is an advanced scanner listener as well. He has 5 portable scanners and has experimented with all types of stock and aftermarket antennas. I took the antenna over to show him after it arrived today and he tuned into one of the most difficult to receive trunked talkgroups we have in this area. Bam! It came in loud and clear, his face lit up like a Christmas tree and he asked me to order 5 antennas for him immediately.

This guy is not known for being cheerful, so when he smiled and got excited I had confirmation that I had picked a winning antenna. Combined he an I have almost 70 years of scanning experience so we both know when we have a winner. I bought my first scanner in 1980, he was using crystal scanners even before that.

Also this antenna when elongated will pull in the 39-43Mhz range with ease. I would say without any reservation that this antenna is quite noticeably better than any stock antenna I have seen to date on a portable scanner. From low VHF to high UHF it will bring in your channels.

I don't understand or agree with the negative comment in another review about this antenna, chalk them up to inexperience or bad luck. Maybe their antenna was damaged in shipping. This antenna is very sturdy, tight, and well made. This antenna outperforms antennas that we have paid 4 times the price for. It is a wonderful value.

I recently tried a Comet BNC-W100RX which doesn't come close to this antenna and it sells for over 3.5x the price. In fact, I was so disappointed with the Comet I immediately returned it.

Does not work well on a CB radio. You have to be tailgating the other person hear them/be heard clearly by them. OK for UHF. Not super clear, but usable.

Nice, tight little antenna. I use it on my Homepatrol 2 and it picks up very well. Fortunately the HP2 included an SMA to BNC adapter so I was able to plug and play. Using said adapter I can also connect this to my HT which is dedicated to Dallas PD repeaters. Pulls in the UHF stations nice and strong.

The antenna seller claims that it will receive pretty low in the HF 0.3 KHz band but this is just a cheap replacement am/fm antenna. Probably the seller’s claim is just a generic assumption. A real HF antenna would be way longer than this. Well anyway it doesn’t pick up much.

I had to return it. Not met for a hand held radio table top sure but don't touch it for a hand held it's metal you don't want it to jab you when u walk.
