I own all of her books--short stories, novels, and the "character development" vignettes like this one. Had I known this was going to be bridge to a new series spinoff with no real plot, unanswered questions ("naming names..."), way too much internal dialogue and way too little action, I would have passed.
This is the second time she's published something that is a short fiction bridge piece masquerading as a short story and pretended that it's an actual story. As a reader, my trust in her is a little thin.
It do's flesh out more of Ophelia /Jamie relationship. I just wish it had more of it, for blood mates being apart drove every one else nuts in the series with them it rather cool effect.
I do like the interaction with Ophelia and Sister as brief as it..I just gotta love Pocket Vamp. She's a trip.
I think what alot of reviews missed was Ophelia growth as person and Vamp . Finding out new things about one shelf at her age is impressive !
If you like the series this a well thought out evolution of charaters and nice lite summer read.
This is a very short story and going into it, I wasn't sure how much I would like it since Ophelia is one of the protagonists for the vampires throughout a lot of the Half-Moon Hollow series. She was the Vampire Princess with a serious power-tripping ego...until she met Jamie and he mellowed her...oh, and Jane took her down a few notches.
Now she's at college with Jamie, trying to figure out how not to be an evil warlord princess and instead make friends and influence people...something that does NOT come naturally to her. LOL.
I enjoyed this quick audiobook. Watching Ophelia become more "human" was actually nice. I liked her transformation and the fact that she did it on her own, instead of Jamie forcing her into it.
This is a quick little story and there were a couple of things left that weren't tied up, so it will be interesting to see how those play out in future installments. But overall, I liked it and definitely recommend the audio. Amanda Ronconi always does an incredible job narrating.
Still classic Molly Harper, witty, great vocab <3 so four stars manidory, it just progressed too quickly and in a weird direction for me that felt idk not like other reads in the series. I'm hoping all will be revealed later.
