I really loved Kallysten's The Edge series and liked this one almost as much, especially the latter installments which are all included here, for several reasons.
The plot arc was interesting, bringing two vamps who had known each other, off and on, for centuries, back together. They'd always been involved with others, off the market, so to speak, until this reunion. And, though one of them already has a partner, it's no deterrent as this MMF story heats up.
I also liked the little details, like the heroine being able and eager to use her company's know-how to help a lover through a medical issue. The heroine is a strong, savvy businesswomen who has been through numerous human partners who got old and died. Now she's considering mixing it up with another vamp who she wouldn't necessarily outlive. I liked her take charge personality.
The self-induced obstacles to the menage running smoothly, mostly instigated by Florian, made this more than just a bunch of steamy scenes. That's not to say the story does not🔥 sizzle! And the series does end on a satisfying note. I preferred the Edge series because, for some reason, I was more invested in the MCs in that series. This heroine in this one seems a bit remote but, hey, she IS a vampire!:-)
I read each volume as it came along. I like the idea of a set where you can get the full effect at one time and not have to go back and refresh the memory on what happened earlier. Each installment is brief, but it adds up to one good, steamy vampire menage romance. 🔥❇🔥
I read a complimentary advance copy of the books in this series; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Even if you have lived for centuries, you may not excel at romance. Lilah and Florian have interacted but never been “available” at the same time – until now. When Florian introduces Damian to the mix things do get complicated. It is very interesting to get the background on our characters, as they do each have a history, and each has a “couple” relationship and their relationship as a trio.
Meaningful letters, revisiting history and a special gift all come together in attempts to create a relationship resolution.
