The Daughters of Darkness books are by 4 different authors, Chrissy Peebles wrote this one. I gotta say I really didn’t like it. I thought maybe as the story progressed I would, but I just found Blair kinda clueless and prissy. From my prospective… I see this first book as paranormal meets damsel in distress. She runs from Tony, she runs from Tori (see Victoria by W.J.May) she runs to Wayne in hopes that he can help her and then she’s swept up in the strong and capable arms of Tristan. The only time she put up any real fight was a total accident.
I know this review sounds like I’m a Debbie-downer, and for that I’m sorry. Chrissy Peebles writes beautifully. You do get caught up in her words and can almost imagine the scene around you, feel the wind as the characters rush around, the heat of an embarrassing comment. Her other books are good, just not this one. Just my opinion. You never know if you will like it unless you take a look!
I really liked the story of Blair, reading her journey as she tries to escape the clutches of the people who wish to kill her and her power.
I would recommend this short story
