"A shadowy, sarcastic and witty beat breathes life into the ironic personalities of Harris Gray's characters. Eugene Foreman, the bungling vampire hunter, is a hysterical encounter. Yet, there is a serious side. Victor's transformation, while empowering, certainly has its share of casualties. Inevitably, Victor comes fang-to-fang with the truth behind his fate. Thus illustrating the life of a vampire, however mainstream, can be both a surprise blessing and a deadly curse." -IndieReader
About the Author
Harris Gray finish their third pint and mull over their next writing project, simultaneously deciding on a vampire book. Because the women in their lives eat up every vampire story on the shelves. And for the gratuitous T&A. But hunky, smoldering vampires are beyond their grasp; and dammit, T&A should mean something. Deciding to write what they know, Harris Gray return to their wheelhouse: An aging, uncomfortable man, not so happy with his lot in life. A man bitten by a vampire, unsure what to do with his new…skillset. Vampire Vic – VV – is born. Perfect.

Vampire Vic is hilarious and unexpected. It took a very different approach to the whole vampire theme and I really like that.
Victor is a surprising character. He's one of those you-can't-really-hate type because he's amusing (and it's just impossible not to like that kind of person) and it's easy to find a connection with him since he's just as odd, lost and flawed as the rest of us. He's very interesting and I love the development his character went through.
I love the writing. It was simple and absolutely funny. The characters although some of them didn't really make much of an impression are just as amusing as Victor.
So what did I not like?
More than halfway through, I got really lost in the story. There were instances where I had to go back a few pages just so I'd understand what exactly happened. I got so confused and irritated and kept mentally asking myself "WHY?! What the heck is happening here?!"
I felt like the author could have been more thorough with some parts and just completely written off some.
Overall, this is a pretty hilarious book and that's what I love most about it. I'll definitely check out the rest.
I received an e-copy of the book to read and review.
